Ahh, forgot this. If the Mets win and Reds lose, New York would drop to the sixth-best odds (6.4% for the top pick; just over 50 percent to stay top six).

The Mariners’ win last night locks in the Mets’ lottery position. They have the fifth-best odds (8.68%) to win the No. 1 pick. They have about a 60 percent chance to stay in the top six. (Reminder: Their pick drops 10 spots if it falls out of the top six.)

⚾️ NEWS (w/@EvanDrellich): Why because of the media rights deals 60 games will be a leverage point during the expected lockout. Will the owners still be paid their $2B+ in rights even if there are no games? Answers www.nytimes.com/athletic/762...

In MLB lockout, 60 missed games could be the real deadline (Gift Article)
If a lockout occurs, 60 games — roughly the end of May, by the expected MLB schedule — will bring perhaps the most crucial leverage point.

It's a 1-2-3 eighth for Williams on 13 pitches. With Seager, Jung and Nimmo due up in the ninth and Kodai Senga having pitched last night, it's Cionel Perez getting loose in the New York bullpen.

Nolan McLean's outstanding rookie season is (presumably) concluded with a gem: 7 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 5 K. If the Mets' bullpen holds this one-run lead (starting with Devin Williams' return to the mound here in the eighth), McLean will finish the season 12-10 with a 3.16 ERA.

The Rangers had the bases loaded and nobody out against Sean Manaea in last night's fourth inning. They have made 30 outs since without a single hit. 12 up, 12 down for Nolan McLean tonight.
