For my fellow lit nerds and Steinbeck stans I am two episodes into the East of Eden miniseries and so far it is outstanding. Every bit as good as I had hoped it would be.

The Brewers need to win it all otherwise this is gonna be a real dark fall and winter for Wisconsin sport fans.

Packers have Jonathan Vilma on commentary again tomorrow. The curse of being an awful team.

Trump campaigns for Ken Paxton in Texas: "He can be a pain in the ass sometimes, I'll be honest. Is he here, by the way? Oh, there he is. I didn't even know if he was here! I don't care."

DoorDash spent $1.4M trying to stop Zohran Mamdani from becoming mayor. This week's historic $131.5M enforcement action against DoorDash for underpaying NYC delivery workers shows why. Yet another reminder that the only thing that can beat organized money is organized people.

DoorDash Spent $1.4 Million Trying to Stop Mamdani From Becoming Mayor. Now We Know Why.

In a wage-theft settlement, DoorDash now has to pay its workers around 100 times what it spent trying to beat Zohran Mam

I'm of two minds on this. I really don't think it solves anything (this year -- he should absolutely be gone next year and never should have been back) and I do think it's punting on the season. But there's an argument that they punted on the season by bringing him back to begin with.

Looks like I made the right call in going to bed before the start of the fourth quarter

the only reason i'm not in bed yet is my comforter is in the dryer

I do agree with this, though. absolutely pointless to fire lafleur. the time to part ways was this offseason. they didn't, we're here, and this is the reality for the season.

Tim Backes @timbackes.bsky.social · 25/09/2026

right like, firing lafleur now does nothing. the team made their bed for the season. he never should have been brought back, but nothing gets better if he's fired now in september either.

in fact one of his biggest problems is that he holds on to people who are objectively bad at their jobs (coaches and players alike) for far too long, long after even the average joe can plainly see that they are bunz.

i do not think you're reading this exchange correctly

Tim Backes @timbackes.bsky.social · 25/09/2026

I know they're not going to fire anyone midseason and I don't expect them to but everything we're seeing shows that the extensions were the wrong move

Tim Backes @timbackes.bsky.social · 25/09/2026

seems like a pretty classic "yes and" scenario the personnel issues are obvious and on gute but also, lafleur has been pretty awful on the coaching end of things. i'm out on everyone.

most bizarre shit i've ever seen. that points scored tiebreaker is insanely rare

Tim Backes @timbackes.bsky.social · 25/09/2026

is there anyone left who thinks matt lafleur should be coaching this team? lots of people this franchise needs to jettison, but it is so egregiously obvious that he's no longer the guy.

2008 was fun, new quarterback. 2005 had wild favre and samkon gado silliness. 2018 might contend here. bro I don't remember 1991 and before I was 3 yrs old and younger. why are we being pedantic here???

I don't think there's a single person in football operations whose job should be considered safe right now.

2013 final game on its own removes it from contention, that shit was an all timer. also the tolzien spin zone and the flynn resurrection! 2017 was pretty rough. hard for me to count an injury year though. this team has its quarterback!

many thought the Falcons could be the worst team in the NFL coming out of week two. They currently lead the Packers at Lambeau as halftime approaches.

Tim Backes @timbackes.bsky.social · 25/09/2026

this is why gute should also be getting a long long look. outside of QB there's no position/position group more important and he punted on it knowing the situation he was putting his franchise quarterback in. indefensible and unforgivable

love is getting absolutely clobbered. The packers need to find some offensive help immediately, however they can get it. After this game/during the mini bye is the perfect time to figure something out.
