Prolly gonna have to redo the intro specs sheet. Also I need to find a pfp that’s not Halloween 2017 (yikes)

so here’s what you missed on glee in no particular order: • I went to Iceland! • I moved • I got a raise! • I experienced grief • I went on a retreat • I got promoted at work • I lost my ID • I read three books! • I lost another family member • I ate shark Soo that’s what I’ve been up to.

Oof sorry for the radio silence; since the post election “fuck this fuck you” era set in, I’ve had a bunch of pre-Iceland trip planning, packing for the jan1 move, and freelance & 9 to 5 nonsense to work through. Oh, also I’m now 28. Yay, one year closer to returning to earth’s loving embrace.

Well this is frankly devastating. I do not want to talk about it.

idk what kind of cloud is rising from my apartment and shrouding my tiny porch in godly vibes, but it does make it feel a bit like I’m sitting on Olympus

ok another side quest craft!

My mom and I holding up our eight pointed paper stars. Mine is red/yellow made with a gradient semi transparent Japanese paper. Mom’s is white/purple.

A glass door to a small apartments deck, with another building within our apartment complex across the street. My eight pointed paper star is on the upper left hand corner of photo. The paper star is semi transparent red/yellow gradient.

The cross stitch project has been paused bc ma and I are knitting matching hats. Won’t take long, we’re working with with double worsted and the colors work together so well!

Two cakes of yarn, one a speckled white/red/yellow/purple and the other a brown with some depth, some yellowish undertone.

I just made a starter pack for freelance writers & journalists of color, b/c it's rough as AF in news media right now. Please let me know if you want to be added or taken off. And spread the word #freelance #writersofcolor go.bsky.app/R9KTLop

I’m being dramatic though, I love this tiny press of non speaking neurodivo authors and I will do anything for them, anything they want, call me genie bc I live to make their dreams come true 🥹

a book designer’s horror story: “Hey, I know the back cover’s already full of quotes, but can you add this four line quote? :)”

tijqua @tijqua.bsky.social · 26/10/2024

progress is progressing! 🧶 The count is off 😭 The lettering is off by one to the right so the bones aren’t exactly where they should be but I think this is one of those mistakes only I will notice. But I will notice. And it does bug me🥲

A mac book with green keys is open. On the screen is a google sheets grid depicting the middle section of 04 - Lonely Ghoul, the lettering of the first line title (04 - Lonely) and some skulls in a pile above it and the body of the ghoul knight above it. The original 04 - Lonely Ghoul is pixelated so it fits in the boxes perfectly. On the keyboard of the MacBook is an unfinished cross-stitch representation of 04 - Lonely Ghoul. The outer and inner frame has been finished and so has the lettering. The background has fully been filled in around the lettering. There are two full skills and some bone fragments starting to appear.

starting to see posts prescribing how to properly reply to people on this app and lemme just say… i didn’t figure it out for the last five social media apps, so i wouldn’t expect me to figure it out on this one. if i see something neat, im gonna say so, and it will be awkward & genuine & me-ish

i’m not a photographer but post first snow ironwoods(? i think) are so gorgeous, you don’t even need skill to appreciate ‘em ♡

Tijqua is fairly certain this is photo of Ironwood trees in the dead of winter in the upper Midwest, US. There is no snow on the ground, but the sky is over cast. Leaves, deadened by the winter, cling to the branches. They’re a fantastic bronze orange-ish color. The photo was taken in 2023. Tijqua is particularly excited to wander the woods, poking at moss, again in 2024.

Everyone is sharing their most popular artwork so I guess I should too! This Cult of the Lamb fanart I made really blew up.

A textured portrait of the lamb from the video game Cult of the Lamb. The lamb is pictured with a small dark crown with a red eye motif on it. There is a golden bell peeking out from the lamb's thick mantle of wool. An array of symbols radiates from the lamb, which could be interpreted as swords or upside-down crosses. The lamb's eyes are red and one appears to be dripping.

so, as you may not know cos I’m new to the app, i’m learning (casually, slowly) roughly 28 languages off and on. One of them is Portuguese, and there’s lots of Brazilian Portuguese on my feed! Very exciting to note that I can kinda sort of read a solid amount of it :)

For #InvisibleDisabilitiesWeek: One of my main #MECFS symptoms is multiple paresthesias (tingling). This #SciArt #symptomatology #embroidery maps the paresthesias in my face. 🐡🧪🩺🧶

paresthesia (face) 2016

An embroidery of the outline of a face in bone coloured thread on bone coloured linen. The forehead, cheeks, jaws, and temples are covered in filigree lines in dark blues, greens, and yellows. There are French knots spaced out along the lips. Lines of beige strands of thread are strung from the knots across the face in a geometric formation.

someday i will either write a book or help someone design a book in which i will have the freedom to work with an artist to make really cool interior art that functions alongside and within the text (so not just end pages or section spreads) and that is when i will achieve my final form ◉‿◉
