The fact that my name is "Martijn" pretty much dates me. Before the 1960s almost nobody was called that, and after the 2010s it wasn't used much either. I was born right into the first dip 😅

I never had a console growing up, until I got an Xbox 360 when I was already in my 20s. So I never really knew just how much cool & out-there stuff there is on platforms like the PS2. My impression was that it's dominated by boring mainstream AAA stuff, but there's actually a lot of creativity!

We had way too many chili peppers from the garden this year, so I made sambal! It's an Indonesian hot sauce and it turned out plenty hot alright lol 🥵

I'm usually a pretty lenient guy who doesn't get upset easily. But I can't get over these elevator controls in Tex Murphy: the Pandora Directive (our @dosgameclub game of the month). I mean... the button for 1st floor is at the top? And 2nd floor at the bottom?? Wtf??? #dosGaming

Sid Meier's Civilization has such a captivating intro. I remember watching this in awe when I was a kid. They really managed to convey a sense of grandeur through these chunky pixels and synth beeps. Definitely the first time I had ever come across the word "maelstrom" lol #dosGaming #retroGaming

I'm playing Sid Meier's Civilization as the Russians and despite being in the modern era, I only just now discovered gravity lol

I was at Blast Galaxy arcade in Amsterdam. Really cool place. They have a massive floor with all sorts of cabinets, free to play as much as you like after paying the one time entry fee.

The game allows you to import & export horses, so you can give them to other players who can then race them against their own. Very cool! I'm currently in the process of racing different designs against each other to see which one is fastest.

I've been playing Horsey Game all evening yesterday and I'm happy to report that it's very good. Yes it's a bit of a novelty game. Yes it's very funny. But, crucially, it's also a legit good game that's fun to play!
