Is it a millennial thing to keep instruction manuals or is that just me? I know millenials are supposedly notorious for hoarding boxes and stuff. My favorite are probably the old game manuals, sad they don't make things like this anymore.

A statement from our union president on the amazing turnout of support for the Game Industry Hardship Fund itch.io bundle 🙏 👇 The bundle is live for 10 more days to support devs in need, but a long-term difference can be made by joining UVW-CWA directly. ✊ uvw-cwa.org itch.io/b/3802/game-...

A message from United Videogame Workers, a Code-CWA Union, part 1: A statement from Aurelia Augusta - President, UVW-CWA Local 9433:

The response to the Hardship Fund has been so awe-inspiring and so great that it's honestly made it difficult to write a statement because every time I look away, the total amount raised by the itch bundle leaps forward yet again and I find a few more tears of joy on my face.

A message from United Videogame Workers, a Code-CWA Union, part 2: As I'm writing this, we've just passed $97,000 that will go directly into the pockets of struggling game workers, raised at a truly incredible speed, in addition to the $25K already dispersed by UVW-CWA.

I want to start with a massive thanks to players who have bought the bundle, signal-boosted it, or otherwise supported this effort.

A message from United Videogame Workers, a Code-CWA Union, part 3: To our allies in the labour movement who have supported this effort, everyone in UVW-CWA continues to be awed by and thankful for your solidarity and ever proud to be standing up to fight for workers alongside you.

And to all game workers, I want to highlight that this is just small example of what's possible when we stand together as workers. Together in solidarity, we can make sure that this is far from just a one-off reprieve.

A message from United Videogame Workers, a Code-CWA Union, part 4: We can make an industry where workers don't have to choose between fighting for their rights and paying their bills.

It will take time, it will take winning the many fights to come, but I adamantly believe that one day we can make an industry and a world where we won't need a hardship fund.

Join us today in that fight at uvw-cwa.org.

In Solidarity,
Aurelia Augusta - President,
UVW-CWA Local 9433

Darth Maul: Shadow Lord made me very nostalgic for Titan A.E. both in tone and design, and I don't feel like that's a coincidence.

Hey millenials: Better go check that album full of CD-Rs if you've got data on them, I tested a few yesterday from 2002 and had to give them a good swipe of the t-shirt to even get my aging BD to read them.

I was making a giant cheese costume out of cardboard, my hand slipped while cutting a big hole using a box cutter, and the blade went straight into my left arm. Still have the scar. The costume was so big that when I got laid off from Obsidian it was too big to fit in my car and I left it behind.

Got a new computer recently. Tore my place apart but can't find my install CD for Adobe CS5. Exhausted all my other options. Feeling really defeated. I know it's like 16 years old but it's worked for me okay up until now and almost $800 a year for the same thing feels absurd. 😞

I'm still not sure how to organize the loose drawings from the drawers so in the meantime, I'm going to share some stuff from this huge binder of stuff, mostly from between 2000 and 2001. It's a lot like the drawers of loose drawings except I hole punched it. No organization. #sketchbooks

Folder I wrote "Tigrin Portfolio" on with a colored pencil drawing of Tigrin and Angel. I think this was the original folder that quickly became overwhelmed with drawings so I used it as the cover of the binder instead.

Wanted to be a veterinarian but couldn't handle medical gore, decided to draw animals instead, animation seemed like a good way to get paid to draw animals, still don't get paid to draw animals but did get paid to animate kids farting and guns firing.

I wanted to chat a little bit about an audio book my husband and I have been listening to every night while we do the dishes, which is titled "Children of Time" by Adrian Tchaikovsky, a soft science fiction book, and why I'm utterly devastated by the existence of this stupid book.

We interrupt this scanning session to bring you a WIP story I apparently started when I was like 10 that I must not have planned out very well, I have been laughing for the last five minutes. #sketchbooks

Well the good news is that second drawer was only a third full of drawings and the rest was old keepsakes so I'm done with loose drawings, bad news is now I'm into scanning this box of small size #sketchbooks... kill me now

Moving box crammed full of small sketchbooks

040

Tigrin @tigrinae.bsky.social · 18/11/2025

It looks like the second drawer is a lot of loose drawings from my college days, which is cool, but it's a lot of 16 field animation paper that doesn't fit in my scanner, which is less cool

020

Tigrin @tigrinae.bsky.social · 17/11/2025

Good news is I finally finished scanning everything in this drawer, total of about 800 files. Bad news is I got another one of these drawers that's just about as full. 🫠 #sketchbooks

thoughts while scanning hundreds and hundreds of individual pieces of artwork: why did I keep all these I wish I could go back in time and smack these stupid drawings out of my dumb hands god it's another Simba

130

Tigrin @tigrinae.bsky.social · 11/11/2025

So this is interesting, I am scanning more art for the #sketchbooks project and found this sketch which looks like an early drawing of Tigrin that's like a day older than the earliest one I thought I had. Even funnier is not only is that URL at the bottom still active, it looks exactly the same.

A simple sketch of a cartoon cat winking with two whiskers on either side of its face, long ears with pointed markings at the end, a big splotch on its back, splotches on its paws, a splotch on the end of its tail, and prominent claws, three on each paw. There's a date in the lower right of 7/16/00, and the URL at the bottom is for a walkthrough for Shivers 2. There's a bunch of squiggly lines where I was testing a ballpoint pen but the drawing is in pencil.
