I wanted to create a thread about a phenomenon called Semantic Drift, which describes when the meaning of a word or morpheme (the smallest unit of significance in a linguistic expression) changes its definition, referents, contexts, etc. In a “post-truth” world, this becomes weaponized by fascists.

The fundamental structures of capitalism and dirigism (ie. the state) both require a class hierarchy to enforce. They’re anti-egalitarian by definition. If you want to abolish social inequality, then you need to abolish the unequal class structure.

As far as I know, no legal jurisdiction grants any individual state the right to exist. No one has been able to make a convincing argument as to which jurisdiction does, either. It’s irresponsible and intellectually dishonest to assert that such a right exists if, factually speaking, it does not.

I’ve had the one on the left for a while, and looked up the author’s name. Turns out he wrote the one on the right, so I ordered it. Massive, both are about an 1.5 inches thick. FWIW, I’ll probably just glance through the Germanic one, but the Romance one will be a deep dive before starting Latin.

It’s the state, or the monopoly on judicial violence, as an institution. It’s not a neutral entity. Long before states existed, we governed without that formal political class hierarchy. If you really delve into it, the baseline default human organization is a mix of community/labourer.

Ideological centrism stands for the middle ground between egalitarianism and despotism, which is inherently non-egalitarian. It typically plays both sides, depending on which is advantageous. If P is factual, and Q is counter-factual, then PQ is going to necessarily include/affirm counter-factuals.

A cognitive worldview built around the objectified self is inherently circular because it’s timeless and self-referential. The future, like the empty set is, an abstract hypothetical. It is absolutist because its essence is defined as something that can never be realized. Unreal. Non-relativistic.

An autological statement is one that repeats itself, and has no progression. This is an example of self-referentiality. Subject = Object.

Things are because they are and they do because they do.

I wrote a few papers on Amarna back in university. It wasn’t until I clashed with the Ayn Rand crowd that I started making the connection. Especially when they started nosing around in person. Quite a few modern philosophies/worldviews stem from that event, even if they’re superficially distinct.

The “est-ce que” construction in French translates directly to “is-it that” in English. Note the difference in question strength when you use this exact same construction in English. Who are you with? vs. Who is it that you are with? or Where are we going? vs. Where is it that we are going?
