They really are. Mad respect to the filmmakers. And I don't know, but it lives rent-free in my head! lol I only got to watch one horror movie this year. I chose Outside on Netflix. It's a Filipino zombie film, which I enjoyed.

You're the first person I have come across who has watched this film! I can't get my horror loving friends to watch. It is super unique and even though I knew a jump scare was coming, they still got me. I loved it & when I'm on my deathbed, I'll still be thinking about that post credit scene. lol

My favorite part of the Macy's parade this year was when T-Pain sang the chorus of Low & I remembered that one time I went clubbing & got down real low to that. The whole club was indeed looking at me. Two takeaways from that night: 1. Turns out I hate clubbing. 2. Never skip leg day.

That's really awesome for her! I get distracted too easily and I just don't have a peaceful workspace right now. I think I'm going to invest in a good pair of noise-cancelling headphones and see if that helps any. It's really more of a work investment at this point.

It's originally a novel by Nasu, which was adapted into a series of short anime films by ufotable. It's one of Nasu's earlier works. I actually own a copy of it, but I am too illiterate to read it. lol Will 2025 be the year I finally buckle down and work on my Japanese? Hopefully. 😅

It's been a while, but IIRC the Far Side routes are darker, but I found the mystery and horror elements very intriguing. If you find yourself wanting more while we wait for the second half of the game & haven't seen it already, I recommend The Garden of Sinners/Kara no Kyoukai. Nasu wrote that too.

Not doing detailed planning isn't a bad thing. That's basically the "gardening method" of writing. Personally, I need the structure of a detailed outline, but often things I didn't plan just take root. And then my outline needs revisions! lol

I feel that. I always try to go in with an ending in mind, but 99% of the time, I start writing and then I start second guessing myself and the ending. As both a reader and a writer, I think sticking the landing is just plain difficult.

You'll be working a lot of those backstory details into the story itself anyway. The voice you have given Kate is good. The whole badass heroine vibe definitely comes through there so I think that will also come through in the story through her thoughts and dialogue. Just food for thought!

That's great! When you said you wrote multiple drafts, I suspected you had already landed on that idea. As for the first paragraph as the prologue, I think it gives away much of the story and detracts from the power and intrigue of that Ch.1 cold open.

That's how I roll too. lol Okay, so you have a really great hook in here. Your second paragraph would work really well as your first paragraph. "It was raining the day I died" makes a killer (no pun intended) opening line.
