I encouraged my Mum to watch Widow's Bay because she loves Matthew Rhys and I said it was more of a comedy than a horror so she'd be fine.

Literally just this meme. I forget what text was on it exactly but the big domino was essentially "oh shit I'm trans".

The Domino Effect meme (like 10 white domino blocks increasing in size from tiny to big and a man in a blue shirt ready to tip the first one over)

Got dressed up for the wrestling! First time I've bothered to do eyeliner in ages and honestly it's probably because I've watched so many Marina Shafir matches recently.

Was responding to this (now deleted) post by the coward Toby Perkins.

One of my favourite things about Christmas is our tree. We've had this tree 9 years and we aquire a new decoration or two every year so it's always a little look back at our life together.

Photo of our beautifully decorated Christmas tree. It's an 8ft green artificial fir tree with warm white lights and mostly gold baubles.

We had an old Sharp computer (not the one in the pic but something similar) and I played Star Trek on it as a kid. When the Klingons showed up I was incredibly scared even though everything in the game was simple ascii graphics and I had no other frame of reference for what a Klingon was.

This last week has been a bit rubbish but at least I was able to finally 100% Crash Bandicoot.

Screenshot of the 'GEM SAVE' screen from the first Crash Bandicoot game. It has orange, green, and white text against a blue stone background. The text reads GEM SAVE 100% COMPLETE! 32/32 LEVELS 2/2 (key icon) 26/26 (gem icon), CONTINUE, SAVE COMPLETED

The game is running in the Retroarch emulator using a Retro Crisis shader overlay to mimic a classic 90s CRT effect.

I needed a quick mood improver because I'm feeling pretty burned out so I loaded up Crash and ahhh yes, that's the stuff. Also the original is SO much easier than the N' Sane Trilogy remaster. It just controls much much better, and with a couple emulation tweaks looks perfectly good too.

The player character Crash is small in the centre of the image standing on a wooden platform, in front of a large wooden wall that has bright coloured stripes on part of it. To the right of crash are 4 boxes and an Aku Aku mask hovers next to his face.

The only failing was the opaqueness of the puzzles (typical to its genre at the time) but we were able to overcome that with help from an experienced player in chat (thanks BillSwales).

Another screenshot of the bridge scene, but on the viewer screen is a Romulan character. Underneath there is a large text box that reads "Enterprise, you are in violation of Romulan space. My orders are specific - unauthorized vessels are to be destroyed."

This screen of the game depicts the Enterprise away team lead by Kirk on the planet surface. The characters are in an area of greenery with a stone wall and cave entrance at the back. In between the characters and the cave entrance are three Klingon characters. Captain Kirk is firing a phaser at one of the Klingons.

This screen of the game depicts the Enterprise away team lead by Kirk on the planet surface. Here they are inside the mine. There is a large metal door in the background with rubble at its base. Captain Kirk is up screen, appearing to investigate the rubble or door. At the bottom of the screen is the dead body of a crewmember (the classic Star Trek red shirt character).

A screenshot of me on camera during the stream. Still wearing my star trek command uniform tee shirt. I am smiling in this one.

The presentation and tone faithfully represent the original series (afaik from my random memories of a handful of episodes) and once I had dug through the manual to figure out the controls and mechanics, there was a fun point and click adventure within.

An episode title card reading "Demon World" with the starship Enterprise flying through space below it. This is a screenshot of the game being played on a twitch stream. At the bottom of the image are stream avatars, retro graphics style characters, these are from the stream and not part of the game being played.

Screenshot of me on camera during the Twitch stream. I have a blank expression and I am wearing a t-shirt that looks like a Star Trek command uniform (in the Next Generation style).

Interior scene of the starship enterprise's bridge rendered in early 90s pixel graphics. At the top is a large viewing scene. At the bottom we see the back of Captain Kirk in the captain's chair. The other key characters from the show are also in their appropriate positions. This is a screenshot of the game being played on a twitch stream. At the bottom of the image are stream avatars, retro graphics style characters, these are from the stream and not part of the game being played.
