Ryan had been tasked with covering for one of Sodor Electric's engines. They were used to strenuous branch lines, but the railway up to the mountains was something else. They had rough gradients to cope with, and long tunnels that prevented them puffing too hard, lest they fill the tunnel completely with their smoke.
The purple engine was given a much needed rest at a station not far from the terminus. There, he saw a particularly odd little railway system, with an even stranger engine running it.
