Never really occurred to me before but why isn't there some way of tiering non-kid-friendly content online, like with film ratings? They fall under the same label of 'NSFW', but there's a gulf of difference between a tasteful pinup and a cartel video of a guy being skinned alive

Very excited to share my Basquiat-inspired Karzahni piece THE KING OF RUINS for this year's #810NICLEDay zine, Gang! #GangZine

Digital illustration on vertical canvas
Theme: Experimental / Bionicle / Fan Art / Dark
Character: Karzahni, a character from Bionicle
#Artsky #DarkFantasy #Bionicle

This is a very experimental digital painting quite vaguely resembling both the character Karzahni and Basquiat's work.

The character in the middle is an imposing horned and spiked figure in blue and green. He has large teeth and a skull belt. He is holding the chain of a small malformed Ga-Matoran. Left and right of him are kanohi masks, decorating his throne. Some bionicle limbs are scattered in the corners, a lime-coloured one cheekily referencing the breakability of the lego Bionicle pieces of that specific colour. Above Karzahni are two closed eyes, referencing the sleeping Mata Nui.

The piece is darkly chromatic, with the background featuring murky reds and purples.

It's #BionicleDay (or #810nicleday)! ⚙️ The latest ones are Hydraxon and Maxilos — maybe the only faces you got to see if you're sent to the Pit. That wraps up my #Bionicle #Sketchbook for now. Check all entries ⬇️🧵. I'm already drawing in larger format, and may be back for #Bonktober if I find time.

Drawing of two Bionicle characters, Hydraxon and Maxilos. Hydraxon is black, Gray and silver; he has wrist blades and a shooting weapon on his right hand. Maxilos is Gray, red and black; he has claws for hands and the shooting weapon "Cordak blaster" is mounted on his right shoulder. Both have tubes and hoses simulating diving gear.

Race for the Mask of Life! by KumataJDG

Hahli felt the pulse of her Mask of Detection against her head, turning to gauge the angle that delivered the most pressure. She pointed in the direction the lava flowed. Without hesitation the group set off again. Their intent had been to travel the gorge and follow the river’s path, but as they reached the edge something caught their attention. A path sloped down to a pair of platforms suspended over the lava. One was bare. Upon the other sat a construction of smooth metal; two thin legs attached to a central hull.

The shape was familiar to Hahli. “That’s a boat!”

The group descended the slope. Nuparu ran a clawed hand along the craft’s armoured hull. “This looks more than enough to withstand the heat of the river… its design principles remind me a little of Ta-Matoran lavaboards. It’s masterfully built. I wonder who-”

“Keep your head in the game, engineer,” chuckled Hewkii. “Jaller, what do you think?”
