If I call my parents, they're usually too busy to talk for more than a minute (despite both being retired). But! If I post a passive-aggressive post about our last conversation on Facebook, my mother will call within 24 hours and have plenty of time to talk to say, "that's not what I meant!"

I just watched "Canadian Bacon," a comedy that came out in 1995. Canada being the 51st state was a joke 30 years ago because it was so ridiculous, and now we have foreign policy shooting for it.

Just read an article saying x-mas trees are much cheaper in EU than the US/Canada, that cited all sorts of reasons for this, except the fact that fake trees are a thing. Very strange. For us, it's cheaper to buy one fake tree for $90 that lasts at least 5 years, than to buy a new $80 tree each year.

The only superheroes really loved by the media are the rich ones (Batman, Ironman, the Arrow), who fight but never actually defeat evil (other rich people). Its why Marvel's heroes have to go to space: if they stayed here, people would be asking them why they aren't stopping health insurance CEOs.
