First shakedown of the new ProKart went pretty well overall. It’s certainly grin inducing when it’s running properly. 😁 Some handling issues to resolve and will benefit from more TLC over the winter.

Our 12yo has been using the wing mirror view from the back seat for the last 5-years, and I don’t think that I’ve ever experienced a rear seat pax look through the back window before exiting the car. Oh and I’ve driven vans for nearly 30 years. No rear window is no excuse for stupidity.

There’s something quite satisfying about sourcing firewood from the fallen trees in the woods, especially when you can find a big one (ooo-er) and you don’t have to cut it up to short lengths to get it out. Also fresh air and an upper body workout 😂💪

The nuclear option is to write a notice letter explaining the reasons why you’re leaving as you’ve documented already, including dates etc. Even reference similar job advert salaries. But that only works if you’re likely to be able to relatively easily find another role.

Well it does sound like you need to start job hunting. Feeling valued doesn’t necessarily have to be solely financial, there can be some hybridity there, appears you have neither. Sorry to hear this. Can’t be a great motivator as part of enjoying what you do.

Yeah that’s not on. As an employer I always try to implement increases annually. There have been instances where this has been impossible, and post COVID there’s been no way for us to even match general inflation. But I at least explain this to those who ask.

Employer here. If any of my staff asked for a pay rise today they would also get a no due to the costs (fuel) we’re facing, but it would be at least given a timeline of when it could be revisited. When your pay was reviewed last were you given any indication as to when it would be reviewed again?

Not that I need to sell the ‘40s TC, but I am acutely aware of the minuscule market for it. They’ve never been particularly valuable, too many made for that and not really any race pedigree. Oh and knowledge to maintain them is vanishingly rare!

Renault absolutely smashing the new models recently. Granted the back-catalogue won’t last forever and I suspect a retro inspired R11 EV would be a push, even if it did split in half for Paris commuting. Deeply wanted a 4 plein sud but use case & limited range weren’t compatible, sadly.

You’ll all hate me for this… but I love the look of this car. There is a caveat. Buttons. Organ pulls. The interior is a big miss. It could have matched the outside. The exterior is a triumph. The dash is disappointing. Me? I’d have one regardless. Gorgeous.
