okay i was closer with any of my guesses than i had any right to be but also it’s fairly exhausting that this kind of shit is so predictable and often works because “he’s an op” still scans as conspiracy to a lot of normies & 90% of the mainstream media is basically captured at this point.

Instead, it quickly appeared to be an inorganic attempt to generate negative publicity for El-Sayed. (Unfortunately, it may already be working: CNN's coverage of the moment featured a terrible headline suggesting El-Sayed's disavowal was the news, rather than his compelling defense of the Constitution.)
