I want a new fighting game with: - Pre round movement - Small combos - A lower input buffer - 8 characters or less - Rollback - No baked in neutral resets (more pertinent to tag fighters) - No universal systems like parries or drive gauge or heat (super meter and ex is fine) - No cutscene supers

Animation is a medium, not a genre, and, like any medium, there are some concepts that can only be properly portrayed using it. House of Leaves is an unfilmable book, the wizard Ekh in the 1983 short "Wow, a talking fish!" Would never have the same impact without being animated.
