I'm blessed to work somewhere that lets me decorate my cube, it's true. As long as it's seiso, all good. I brought from home all my stuff I've been given or got over the years. Off to my left is kid art surrounding statues of Zelda, Link and Mipha. It's the kids/nerd cube.

I have my kids' art around most of my work cube. However, this one image from @likovacs.bsky.social is kind of my anchor for the day. It's behind me, so I see it usually when I walk in for the day. It's grounding — the serene landscape, Zelda glancing back as the wind rustles. You can hear the harp.

I've been sharing previews of @preludekisszine.bsky.social's many artists and writers the past couple weeks during the zine's preorder period. There's been a ton of success already! Somehow, I'm in the darn thing too. 😅 And it's still been successful! Crazy, right?

Once the water was drawn in the tub, Zelda stood up to make her way out.

Link seemed to fill the doorway a little more than last time, and he didn’t bow either. He held her face up with a studious look, before he wanted to know if she might talk with him while he bathed. From the other side of the doorway. If that wasn’t too inappropriate?

@preludekisszine.bsky.social is hard at work with pre-orders. Two stretch goals so far. A testament to the hard work of all involved to get a new zine off the ground! Part of that success is one @drsteggy.bsky.social, author of "Fire and Rain."

"Do you want to sit?" He whispers.

She nods against him.

He puts an arm over her shoulder and shepherds her back to the spring's entrance. They huddle together against a wall. She curls in his lap, her face still against his shoulder. His arms drop across her, protective and warm.

She does not know how long the rest, and she loses count of his heartbeat twice, before he slips a finger under her jaw, raising her tear-stained face to his.

It's dark under the stone awning and he is silhouetted in the waning moonlight. She can imagine his face, with that subtle smile he only ever offers to her.

"It's not you," he whispers, his voice soft and warm on her skin. "It's not you."

Allison's artwork, posted on my friend's fridge for one heck of a long time, showed me the power of fan art. I was mesmerized with armored Peach from the first glance. So when her shop opened up, I had to get some things for my friend. He's a Daisy lover, so this standee should go well.

What you see looks like a mess of a shipment. The mess is of my making. The package, ordered from @allimack.bsky.social, was carefully and lovingly packed. Individual envelopes and sleeves, framing cardboard, a handwritten note. She cares not only about her work, but her presentation of it.

Just look at these. You can read the text and you'll be happier for it, but as I must woefully admit (being a writer) they're just words. The art, the EYES, make the words, even when there aren't any, and a thousand more.

It's not about how unique or masterful it is. Artists do it all the time. But there's a joy I felt in every panel. Cute panels, funny panels, hot ones, sad ones. As someone who loves slice-of-life manga from the 90s, I felt at home reading Splendor.

The details are good, the layout and backgrounds and outfits. If you've seen Om's work, it's a bit of a given. But the faces. The expressions? Even knowing their work, this comic gave Kōsuke Fujishima energy. The focus on their eyes, and telling a story through their presentation.

Aw, thank you! I'm glad you enjoy it. I neglected the third square, with a @kumanz.bsky.social print that's just, UGH. Fourth square features some other prints of theirs. I am blessed to have obtained art over the years that I can rotate. I got the idea from the pokeable holes at my work cube.
