There must be an obscure British word for bread roll that rhymes with "cadence". (Apparently it's actually meant to be "plagal on a bagel")

Meme: "you've heard of Elf on the Shelf, now get ready for" with two bars of sheet music on what is supposed to be a bagel, but the hole is hidden by the music.

I do have tapes that aren't in Esperanto too... this one's in toki pona! It's a home-made one and quite possibly the only cassette of toki pona music in the whole world (please prove me wrong, I'd like to meet fellow toki pona retro tech enthusiasts!)

Not bad. The frequency is supposed to be as close to 3000 Hz as possible, and the wow and flutter as low as possible. I don't have a lab-grade test tape, so the w&f on the recording is unspecified and so the machine is actually performing quite a bit better than that already reasonable figure.

A real Esperanto talkie. - At the Palladium in Stockholm on Friday, August 10th, 1934, was shown to the public for the first time a real Esperanto talkie, Hodiaŭ komenciĝas la Vivo. The film lasts about an hour, and is a really good first production, although to the writer the action seemed a little slow at times. We understand that the film will first be shown at the principal cinemas in Sweden and afterwards be sent to other countries throughout the world.

I knew about (and have a copy of) the Linguaphone beginner's course of fifteen 10" records - this is the first I've heard about the advanced course. The price is over £125 in today's money. A 12" gramophone record has about 5 minutes per side, so that's for less than a single CD's worth of audio.

"In the Steppes of Central Asia" by Borodin, recorded in 1929. Some passages on this side 1 are at an unusually fast tempo. Judging by the amount of dead wax, I'm wondering if it was performed faster than planned - usually they liked to put as much as possible on the first side.

Playing some tunes on one of my favourite ocarinas! Book by me (preecemusic.com), ocarina by Thorn Wych (thornwych.bigcartel.com)

I've finally managed to find a copy of a record I've been looking for for ages! This was my 3rd great grandfather Dafydd John's favourite song. He passed away in 1894 so wouldn't have ever heard it on a record.

This record is from 1914. It's a nice performance and plays pretty well with an acceptable amount of surface noise for a 110-year-old record... except for the gouge in the middle that makes it skip! Interestingly it skips backwards on my modern turntable - but on the gramophone it skips forward!
