13) Ghost of Yotei A pretty enjoyable open world game with beautiful environments. I enjoyed the combat and challenge more here when compared to the first game. Although the story does feel a bit rushed in the last act. Also, fourth platinum of the year.

12) Star Fox (Switch 2) A short but enjoyable revisit to Star Fox 64. I do enjoy the expanded story and characterization of the crew but I also kind of miss some of the more cheesy aspects of the original. RIP the iconic Macbeth train engineer.

11) Subnautica I can see why this game is so highly recommended, the sense of exploration and discovery was awesome and it even got scary sometimes. Although the resource grind was a bit much at times and there were a some glitches I ran into.

10) 007 First Light I really think IOI did a great job with leveraging their experience with Hitman and adapting it to a Bond game. It does suffer from a few too many walking and talking sections and I wish there were more fleshed out driving mechanics, but overall it was a really fun experience.

9) Kingdom Hearts: Re: Chain of Memories (Replay) I definitely appreciate this game a lot more as an adult now that I actually understand the systems and can engage with them more. Map card grinding is still annoying though.

8) Pragmata This game feels like a 360 era action game in the best way possible. The hacking mechanic really does add that extra element to combat that makes it really satisfying. Also that's Platinum trophy number 4 for 2026.

7) Octopath Traveler 0 I really enjoyed the gameplay and battle system but the individual story arcs were a bit hit or miss. It also suffers from having a too many party members so I wasn't as attached to some characters. But I enjoyed my journey. And I got my third platinum trophy of the year.

6) Powerwash Simulator 2 I liked a lot of the improvements to the gameplay with the streamlining of the soap mechanics, the more lenient requirements for considering things clean, and there were some pretty interesting stages. The plot of the first game was better though.

4) Pokemon Pokopia Beat the main story of Pokopia. Overall a really great expericne and one of my favorite games of the year so far. I'm not even close to being done though. I want to finish my Pokedex and finally take the time to build a true Pokemon Utopia. A kind of Pokopia you could say.

3) Resident Evil 9 Outside of some pacing issues in the second half and it being a bit too generous with the supplies by the end, this was a really good RE game. The mixing of the survival horror and action horror sections seems like it could have been messy but it actually worked for me.

2) Bloodborne (Replay) Did a replay of Bloodborne with some friends. And yep, it's still amazing. Played through both the main game and DLC (shoutouts to doing it way too early) and finally got the last trophies I needed for my first Platinum of 2026.

1) Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma This one surprised me with how much I ended up liking it. The cast was interesting and battle system was fun if a bit repetitive. The simplification of the farming and crafting systems are my biggest criticisms along with the story feeling a bit slow at times.

Also at today's stream, we learned that apparently Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma doesn't check to make sure you actually put anything in the text field when naming things. So it's possible to accidentally fail in giving your child an actual name.
