My favorite swan family when I first saw them in late May:

Two adult swans with six cygnets between them in the water. One of the adults is looking toward the camera and the other is preening. The cygnets are clustered in the middle very close together.

My brain over and over our entire hike because I had birria tacos a few days ago and the hot sauce was a lie: 🎶IIIIIIIIFF all of the hot sauce was really truly HOT sauce, oh what a world it would beeeee!🎶

Got a bit of a sunburn yesterday because I spent the day sitting in the middle of a small bridge over a river chatting with one of my oldest friends who I haven’t seen in a long while. It was super nice but half my nose is comically red. Saw two pileated woodpeckers and lots of kingfishers too!

This shit is living in my head rent-free ever since I learned about it. TW: suicide

Abstract
We describe an individual who experienced unusual negative effects while taking a placebo during a clinical drug trial. A 26-year-old male took 29 inert capsules, believing he was overdosing on an antidepressant. Subsequently, he experienced hypotension requiring intravenous fluids to maintain an adequate blood pressure until the true nature of the capsules was revealed.
The adverse symptoms then rapidly abated. The nocebo effect (undesirable symptoms following administration of an inert substance that the patient believes to be an active drug) may have significant negative impacts on certain patients.
Further research is warranted to better understand this phenomenon.

I wish I could talk to all builders because I swear they’re like, “why would we put a plug here in a staircase? In a hallway? No one’s gonna plug a computer in here!” Friends, we cleaners still need to vacuum these liminal spaces. Dirt still exists in hallways. Dust accumulates even in stairwells. 😭

Start sooner. Call them out for their “jokes”and casual misogyny. UNFRIEND fucked up men who do not respect women. Beat the ever living shit out of them for harassing and touching women without consent. Tell everyone who the creeps are. Spit in their faces. Go to jail before letting shit slide.

My sister, husband, and I have been playing this hide the cat fart drawing game for like nearly 15 years. If you find it you have to hide it again for the next person to find. And now my children are involved and it’s hilarious and an easy way to add smiles and nonsense to life. Highly recommend.

A truly heinous man has doxxed the Cornell victim on X and the comments are predictably vile. Based on countless interviews I’ve done with survivors, the trauma they are subjected to for coming forward is oftentimes even worse than the initial trauma they experienced. There is no real justice system

Been watching this one swan family all summer and today I got to watch the parents show the kiddos how to bully other swans out of their territory. They’d chase them off and then come together cheering and dancing around with each other. Then go and do it again. They were so pumped every single time
