Thisfox @thisfoxhere.bsky.social · 08/10/2026I would have argued a funko pop was more a pilgrim badge than a reliquary, because the form (not the substance) is more important, but not arguing about the collectables part. 020
Thisfox @thisfoxhere.bsky.social · 08/10/2026Put in a disclaimer, and the knowledge that it helped you to grow, and write something deliciously new, even if it is the same subject matter. Art sometimes means letting work go, to move on to better things. 010
Thisfox @thisfoxhere.bsky.social · 08/10/2026Sure, and that isn't a difficult task, but it is an amusing juxtaposition. Haloween is a rare thing here, and even when acknowledged is mostly a one-night affair, so it is always surprising seeing the the American tradition take over the web for a month each year. I was not knocking your expertise. 000
Thisfox @thisfoxhere.bsky.social · 08/10/2026Makes sense. But really difficult to take "dead in the head" seriously while observing your zombie ikon image. 110
Thisfox @thisfoxhere.bsky.social · 07/10/2026I had to look it ip. It appears to have taken over from the frozen poppa market in tuck shops here in NSW; A little handful of tetra-sealed milky fruit drink sold frozen. 000
Thisfox @thisfoxhere.bsky.social · 06/10/2026I would expect a reed fibre to work, or even a seaweed-derived fabric. Or a fungus-derived fabric? Maybe the processed remains of shimmerplant gets milled? A side-income for Silcos company. I am reminded of medieval Europe, when the years wages could well include 2 shirts as well as a few coins. 020
Thisfox @thisfoxhere.bsky.social · 06/10/2026I have genuinely never heard of this before. How bizarre. 110

Thisfox @thisfoxhere.bsky.social · 06/10/2026Embarassing baby photos aren't as much of an lesson in pain and dedication as "I had to give birth to this specific 3D object". If human mothers could keep something like that on display they so would.... 110
Thisfox @thisfoxhere.bsky.social · 06/10/2026That is amazing. Very well thought out, very well executed, very impressed. 120
Thisfox @thisfoxhere.bsky.social · 02/10/2026Oh! That makes sense. It is very skillfully done, lots of pretty. 110

Thisfox @thisfoxhere.bsky.social · 01/10/2026It's interesting how different cultures see the train lines. I found the London Underground delightful, clean, & safe. But was so scared in the New York Subway that I stuck to surface travel. The Chicago Elevated was just too loud, but not scary. My own Sydney Citirail I take for granted as home. 000

Thisfox @thisfoxhere.bsky.social · 01/10/2026I love the creature watching back. Those roots almost look like a green four legged monster crawling away, or interacting with a second monster. What was your reasoning behind changing the species of trees so completely? 100
Thisfox @thisfoxhere.bsky.social · 01/10/2026...I think you are thinking of vitamin A? C tends to be somewhat harmless as long as it was oral, but A is sodding dangerous. 100
Thisfox @thisfoxhere.bsky.social · 01/10/2026I have had this happen to me, different location, same experience. It was simpler (and so much much safer) to make this decision. It hurts a great deal. But it was safer for me. At the time. I hope you are in a safer environment now, and living your best life. 040
Thisfox @thisfoxhere.bsky.social · 01/10/2026Nah, they changed phones to make guesses based on all typists, not learn soecific writers methods, so now it doesn't work as well. 010
Thisfox @thisfoxhere.bsky.social · 01/10/2026How many manuals? Pipe or electric? (Sorry, sorry, musicians have a weird sense of humour. (But somehow I can imagine Viktor playing this monster. I certainly failed at it. That said, he would hate the pedal manual in the footwell, it expects you to have like four feet to play it correctly)). 010
Thisfox @thisfoxhere.bsky.social · 01/10/2026Absolutely. Also, I am told I am on some blocks because I don't upvote unalttexted media, so I guess what goes around comes around, in the end. 110
Thisfox @thisfoxhere.bsky.social · 01/10/2026Yeah, yel. I mean, weirdly they never liked a single post of mine. Which begs the question: Why follow what you don't care for? Also, one wonders where they saw me to follow me. 110

Thisfox @thisfoxhere.bsky.social · 01/10/2026Can attest, my city has gone crazy. With good reason, I guess. I head off to Springwar this weekend, to socialise with real knights, which I guess is why they never hire the SCA to mascot for them. 020
Thisfox @thisfoxhere.bsky.social · 01/10/2026Follow or not, that's fine, but if you follow me with exactly one generic post to your name, and/or a bunch of U.S. reposts about politics I am not part of, or endless "send me money" posts, I am likely to assume you are a bot and block you. It isn't personal, just self preservation at this point. 170
Thisfox @thisfoxhere.bsky.social · 01/10/2026The warning went around years ago, and then we started getting horror stories. It is pretty sodding dangerous to visit the U.S. right now. 000
Thisfox @thisfoxhere.bsky.social · 01/10/2026That he made the problem worse is pretty easy to see. Only reason we got covid here was from the U.S. spreading the plague around to other countries because it couldn't control the situation and follow simpke protocols. 010

Thisfox @thisfoxhere.bsky.social · 30/09/2026Yep, definitely all of them. Teach your girls how and where to report it as soon as they are old enough, and never accuse them of lying. 000
Thisfox @thisfoxhere.bsky.social · 30/09/2026I definitely don't tell everyone about my examples of this. It's a messed up world, folks. 020
Thisfox @thisfoxhere.bsky.social · 30/09/2026Oh, neat. So "ten or more" basically? How different languages deal with units is always interesting. Random example: I am told that overseas "a couple" (eg a couple of ducks) can mean 2 or 3, but here in Oz it definitely means two. We use "a few" or "a handful" for 3-5 items instead. 010
Thisfox @thisfoxhere.bsky.social · 30/09/2026Wandering through the holiday house, room to room, eating a box of raspberries and repeating the word "matches" each berry, in a spirited attempt to remember that the match box is what I am looking for, so I don't have to go back into the living room to remind myself that the fire needs lighting. 000
Thisfox @thisfoxhere.bsky.social · 30/09/2026A dozen here is 12-13. The standard dozen (eggs, or marbles, or knives) is 12, but a bakers dozen is 13. (Australia) Where in the world is a dozen reduced to only 10? 110
Thisfox @thisfoxhere.bsky.social · 30/09/2026Shopping is a fun activity! Damn things have started offering to read & summarise books to me. I want an A.I. that cleans the fridge, windows & toilets so I can get on with more reading, not less, and do my own shopping & cooking. They invented something that steals all of lifes small joys! 000
