nico hey gamers, happy to poke out of my hole to report Requiem was an absolute heater of a game, and you can probably expect me to do something with Grace whenever I get the chance

"Mhm! You could probably be a good cook as a job or something!" [*The poor pancakes were gone in a matter of mere moments. They seem to really love this specific food.] "So...uhm, I like your hair! It's pretty!"

ᴍʏ ʙᴜʀᴅᴇɴ ɪꜱ ʟɪɢʜᴛ. @thisburdenislight.bsky.social · 27/02/2026

[*Niko nodded, taking the plate with an appreciative smile as they began to cut through the fluffy breakfast item, taking a bite...] "...wow, this is really good, aubrey!" [*...either they're just being nice or they were very easy to please.]

ᴍʏ ʙᴜʀᴅᴇɴ ɪꜱ ʟɪɢʜᴛ. @thisburdenislight.bsky.social · 27/02/2026

"Niko! But I think I already told you that...! ...you want to share?" [*They gesture to the pancakes aubrey had prepared.] "You made them, so its only fair..!"

nico this is mostly an issue I have with Nintendo and open worlds in general. it feels like they don't understand what made BOTW and TOTK work so well. Open world games need to give you a reason to explore every nook and cranny. RDR2 is the best open world game ever made because there is always +

"...you promise you're okay? I-I don't wanna be annoying, but you shouldn't have been hurt just because I was homesick...you really didn't need to do all of this..!"

nico aight yall, let's stop fighting over this. this isn't that important of an issue. this is silly.

nico unfortunately, I will be going back into a semi-hiatus. I'll pop my head out every so often, but not as much as I've been here over the past few weeks.

“Nuh uh! This is more important right now! You need help, that can be really bad if you don’t do something about it…!” [*They are very adamant on helping…]

000

ᴍʏ ʙᴜʀᴅᴇɴ ɪꜱ ʟɪɢʜᴛ. @thisburdenislight.bsky.social · 27/02/2026

“Wow, thank you! I- woah, are you okay? You’re bleeding…!” [*Their mind immediately leaves the pancake thoughts behind, with concern for their…’friend’ taking priority.]

000

ᴍʏ ʙᴜʀᴅᴇɴ ɪꜱ ʟɪɢʜᴛ. @thisburdenislight.bsky.social · 27/02/2026

[*Poor Niko’s too little to see what the scanner even picked up-] “Wh-what’s it say? Is it close? I can’t see…!”

000

ᴍʏ ʙᴜʀᴅᴇɴ ɪꜱ ʟɪɢʜᴛ. @thisburdenislight.bsky.social · 27/02/2026

[*Niko jumped a bit in surprise, looking around to see where the noise came from. Looking everywhere EXCEPT the actual IHop.] “wh-wha-?”

000

ᴍʏ ʙᴜʀᴅᴇɴ ɪꜱ ʟɪɢʜᴛ. @thisburdenislight.bsky.social · 27/02/2026

nico aubrey OMORI and niko oneshot steal from an IHop. cinema at its finest, folks

ᴍʏ ʙᴜʀᴅᴇɴ ɪꜱ ʟɪɢʜᴛ. @thisburdenislight.bsky.social · 27/02/2026

“Okay..!” [*They gave a smile at Aubrey as she spied on the kitchen, clearly not understanding what she was plotting. Probably for the best.]

000

ᴍʏ ʙᴜʀᴅᴇɴ ɪꜱ ʟɪɢʜᴛ. @thisburdenislight.bsky.social · 27/02/2026

“A steel ball? You couldn’t even play catch with that!”

010

ᴍʏ ʙᴜʀᴅᴇɴ ɪꜱ ʟɪɢʜᴛ. @thisburdenislight.bsky.social · 27/02/2026

“Th-they sound real nasty!” [*Cleaning the tears that fell from their eyes, Niko nodded.] “y-yeah, let’s-let’s keep looking…surely it-it’s still nearby…?”

000

ᴍʏ ʙᴜʀᴅᴇɴ ɪꜱ ʟɪɢʜᴛ. @thisburdenislight.bsky.social · 27/02/2026

“R-right…!” [*Scanner picks up nothing. Zip. Zero. Zilch. Cyn up and left the place with the Sun in hand. One hell of a treasure hunt this would be. Something with the power to light up a whole world? In her hands…?] “w-who even is this?”

000

ᴍʏ ʙᴜʀᴅᴇɴ ɪꜱ ʟɪɢʜᴛ. @thisburdenislight.bsky.social · 27/02/2026

“Ah- wait for me! I have little legs!” [*Niko runs after her. The promise of pancakes absolutely seemed to help with the feeling of homesickness.]

000

ᴍʏ ʙᴜʀᴅᴇɴ ɪꜱ ʟɪɢʜᴛ. @thisburdenislight.bsky.social · 27/02/2026

“Well, it was as nice to meet you, Mr. Simon! I’ll see you when you get out of here!” [*The moment Simon seemed to take their eyes off of them, a small glitching noise came from where they once were. Bye bye, Niko!]

010

ᴍʏ ʙᴜʀᴅᴇɴ ɪꜱ ʟɪɢʜᴛ. @thisburdenislight.bsky.social · 27/02/2026

“…alright! B-By the way, I never got your name!”

010

ᴍʏ ʙᴜʀᴅᴇɴ ɪꜱ ʟɪɢʜᴛ. @thisburdenislight.bsky.social · 27/02/2026

“Uhm- o-okay! Are you going to be okay if I go, mister?” [*…A white lie is absolutely necessary here.]

010

ᴍʏ ʙᴜʀᴅᴇɴ ɪꜱ ʟɪɢʜᴛ. @thisburdenislight.bsky.social · 27/02/2026

[*The poor thing just looked absolutely crushed. Tears welled up in those eyes of theirs, but they were just quiet for a while.] “…it-it’s really gone-?”

000

ᴍʏ ʙᴜʀᴅᴇɴ ɪꜱ ʟɪɢʜᴛ. @thisburdenislight.bsky.social · 27/02/2026

“Yeah! Not usually, but it’s been weird like that today!”

010

ᴍʏ ʙᴜʀᴅᴇɴ ɪꜱ ʟɪɢʜᴛ. @thisburdenislight.bsky.social · 27/02/2026

[*They were quite literally too short to even see what horror the picture showed.] “Is that a camera? That’s cool!”

020

ᴍʏ ʙᴜʀᴅᴇɴ ɪꜱ ʟɪɢʜᴛ. @thisburdenislight.bsky.social · 27/02/2026

“I-I dunno! I’ve been waking up in a lot of really weird places lately…if I take a nap, I’d probably wake up somewhere different! What’s wrong with being here?”

010

ᴍʏ ʙᴜʀᴅᴇɴ ɪꜱ ʟɪɢʜᴛ. @thisburdenislight.bsky.social · 27/02/2026

“Eight, nine, ten! There, I finished it for you guys!”

020

ᴍʏ ʙᴜʀᴅᴇɴ ɪꜱ ʟɪɢʜᴛ. @thisburdenislight.bsky.social · 27/02/2026

“Oh, where is your home? I live in a cozy village with my mama!”

010

ᴍʏ ʙᴜʀᴅᴇɴ ɪꜱ ʟɪɢʜᴛ. @thisburdenislight.bsky.social · 27/02/2026

“Mhm! I bake them with her all the time! . . …I miss my mama.”

000

ᴍʏ ʙᴜʀᴅᴇɴ ɪꜱ ʟɪɢʜᴛ. @thisburdenislight.bsky.social · 27/02/2026

[*Simon shook a sleeve. Eh, it works either way.] “Okie dokie! So, what are you doing here…?”

010

ᴍʏ ʙᴜʀᴅᴇɴ ɪꜱ ʟɪɢʜᴛ. @thisburdenislight.bsky.social · 27/02/2026

“My mama made wayyyyyy better pancakes, though!”

000

ᴍʏ ʙᴜʀᴅᴇɴ ɪꜱ ʟɪɢʜᴛ. @thisburdenislight.bsky.social · 27/02/2026

“Then who were you talking to? I’m Niko, by the way!” [*The child raises an arm for a handshake to the convict. The floppy sleeves made it hard to tell where their actual hands are, though-]

010

ᴍʏ ʙᴜʀᴅᴇɴ ɪꜱ ʟɪɢʜᴛ. @thisburdenislight.bsky.social · 27/02/2026

“The god, silly! They’ve been guiding me through a bunch of spooky places! Is someone guiding you too, mister?”
