Done with the Loot VFX. Everything shown here is free (CC0). Got hung up on flare shaders and got frustrated so as punishment for the stupid flares I'm giving them away for free. Floating and grounded versions included Link: binbun3d.itch.io/loot-vfx #godot #godotengine #vfx #shader #gamedev

Grab the Godot card effects here: binbun3d.itch.io/godot-card-fx As usual all the shaders are free and there's a convenience version with presets and all the graphical assets for a couple of bucks. Oh and these work for non-card things too hah #godot #godotengine #shaders #vfx #pixelart

If you can’t talk to your kids about how gay people exist, you’re too much of a coward and/or dope to raise children. (It’s bigotry, it’s always bigotry)

I hereby promise we at Third Rule Games won't send any head designers to meet with a guy that's best buds with Peter Fucking Thiel. What the actual hell WOTC. I'd love to hear someone defend this. #mtg #wizardsofthecoast #peterthiel

Swen Vincke should be commended for his honesty in the way Larian is planning on using GenAI--he could have lied. He should be commended for retaining artists and hiring more--he didn't have to. However, Swen not understanding that any use of AI is use of AI, and being "confused" by the 1/ #larian

We redesigned the card frame to make it a bit more unique, and a bit more eye catching. In addition, it now frames the stats better so that it's easier to tell what does what. We took out a few weirdnesses, like creatures having their supertype implied, and renamed [ANG] to [DIV.]

We're a small indie outfit from Nova Scotia that's making ARCANE: THE ETERNAL, a TCG made for and by Canadians. We're designing here and printing here, not overseas. Our launch set, Alpha, has 280+ cards and five starter decks. We play regularly on the discord! Art by @matanui.bsky.social

The wonderfully talented @matanui.bsky.social has hopped onboard #ArcaneTheEternal and provided some fantastic artworks! These are definitely ending up on the box art for the booster boxes lmao. #fantasy #art #indie #indiedev #tcg #mtg #digitalart #fantasyart #collectible #BuyCanadian

What do people think of a subscription service for a TCG? I saw that Sorcery was doing it to supposedly counter scalpers, but my initial reaction is negative. What does bluesky think? Pic for tax. #art #indiegames #gamedesign #darkpatterns #ArcaneTheEternal

More pack testing! I much prefer this format, although I'm still experimenting with making the text really *pop*. Also some printing errors (read: I messed up) made korie's art not centered lol. #tcg #indiedev #indiegame #collectible #pokemon #ygo #mtg #BuyCanadian #novascotia

Trying to figure out a golden foiling, but something just isn't right. I tried a glitter finish on top as well, but it made the card top difficult to read. Working on perfecting it today. #collectible #art #tcg #mtg #yugioh #pokemon #indie #indiegame #tabletop

Finally got a vinyl foil that works well for holo printing! The problem now is the logistics of lining up the ink layer with the card back. While it looks great its pretty tough to stick it on effectively--right now its about 30% loss to QA. #art #indie #tcg #ygo #pokemon #mtg #buycanadian

Definitely going to design a monster for #ArcaneTheEternal based on this guy. He just looks so cool. Maybe like, a phoenix with a blade tail? He's called the Razorbill but I think it holding the sword in its mouth is a little too close to Razordrake's design...

Did our first test print of the cards for #ArcaneTheEternal. Looking good and manufactured entirely in Canada! Still have to figure out some print settings, though. The bold numbering gets a bit blurry on the darker cards. #tcg #mtg #yugioh #digitalart #craft #BuyCanadian #ElbowsUp #indie #gamedev
