My site got reborn! I moved off a broken Drupal install to simple Jekyll + PHP — much easier to manage. Now I deploy instantly with plain Markdown/YAML, run by my growing agent fleet. Feels good to experiment again! www.thinkyhead.com/blogs/thinkyhead…

How much discount for a quite functional 16” MacBook Pro with M1 Pro 16GB and 1TB storage with a little bit of screen discoloration only noticeable on light backgrounds? It was repaired by world famous Rossmann Repair Group. Replacement displays are about $300 but this one is not actually that bad.

Of course I will use one remote control location for all my helpful #Hermes agents. Building a team that does research and development in embedded software and motion control alongside project maintenance presents an interesting challenge, especially on a tight budget. Must learn however!

Are you using several #StableDiffusion and/or #LLM front-ends, each with their own separate model download and management? All those 5GB+ models add up fast! - Wrangle those duplicates with 'rdfind -makehardlinks'. - Use Gollama for sharing models between #LMStudio and #Ollama.
Usage: rdfind [options] FILE ...

Finds duplicate files recursively in the given FILEs (directories), and takes appropriate action (by default, nothing). Directories listed first are ranked higher, meaning that if a file is found on several places, the file found in the directory first encountered on the command line is kept, and the others are considered duplicate.

🤖 #HermesAgent is ingesting my folders of partially-finished Python and shell-scripted projects into its matrix of skills, enfolding my half-formed ideas in the warm embrace of its agentacle tentacles. I'll show it everything I've got and ask it what it can do with it. It's not #OpenClaw but… #AI
So the stack is now formally coherent:

- prompty-image-prompts
    what to draw

- kitty-diffusion-workflows
    how to draw it

- imagine-inline-images
run it and open the result

- prompty-imagine-render
    do the whole job

As an experiment I set up a simple Frotz endpoint so #AI agents powered by #LLMs can play Z-code text adventures. I'm getting surprising results! Just within its own context (ignoring instruction to write notes) Mistral Small 3.2 is one the best players of "Zork: The Great Underground Empire."
A session of AI playing Zork and doing pretty okay!

Of course I cannot stop at just Atari BASIC and 6502 Assembly support…. The C64Tools and PETSCII plugins for Sublime Text are coming along nicely! I just need to complete the BASIC translation between VICE (PETSCII) and Sublime (Unicode). Stay tuned! #C64 #Commodore64 #RetroComputing #OpenSource

I'm making steady progress in my quest to properly redo that game I wrote in 1983 using Atari BASIC + 6502… "Snorky!" is an homage to Q*Bert that follows the logic that if hopping on a small pile of cubes makes Q*Bert fun then many more cubes should be even more fun! #RetroCoding #Atari #MOS6502

Your #AtariBASIC tip of the day. Numbers in AtariBASIC are always 6 byte floats! But you can use strings to store integer data and access it with PEEK and POKE. Strings can also be cleverly manipulated to manipulate memory and even draw player-missile graphics. #RetroCoding #Atari #MOS6502

The Atari 400 / 800 / XL nostalgia bug has got me looking back at old unfinished projects from 43 years ago and thinking, surely, with all my high level language experience I could do much better at Atari BASIC scaffolding code augmented with 6502 assembly today. We shall see! #RetroCoding

Some Terminal apps (iTerm2, Ghostty) can display images inline. Perfect for when you're working on an LLM AI assistant in a chat-first Terminal situation with a command to invoke image diffusion. Pro tip: Use "import readline" in #Python for an instantly better input() function. #AI #LLM

Refined the BLTouch mount, aligned with the nozzle at just the right height, and chopped up for #3DPrinting. We can't be shy in @marlinfw.org testing so I'm printing this with the latest motion code in development. Wait till you try it! You'll see the improvements from the first print. #OpenSource

I took a day off for nostalgia to add colorized listings to the #Atari BASIC thing. I'm using the AtariBASIC source code (annotated with pseudo-code) to inform the tokenizer. The most important component I need to implement is the little VM that applies the B.N.F. to each statement. #CodingLanguage

The most natural way to experiment with #LLMs is to wrap up Frotz in a #Python Tkinter UI and feed the LLM the output of #Zork. Using several system prompts for the role of summarizer, sidekick, assistant, and player. It's important to keep context small but rich, so this Summarizer is doing well.
Pretty good Zork turn summaries by gpt-oss-20b.

I printed this piece for my Prusa i3 Jalopy Rebuild. The Adjustable X-Idler has always been a bit of a joke in old brittle PLA, quickly disintegrating every time. But with modern PETG a little bit of material goes a long way, so this turns out to be a pretty sturdy part! #3DPrinting #RepRap #Prusai3

Local #LLM Mistral Small 3.2 keeps hitting the mark. Given a succinct system prompt to convert C header content to YAML the result is strongly aligned. For the next test I gave Mistral 280 lines of C++ to convert to Python. It did the job with only one gaffe (a ternary). With that one correction, 🤌🏻!

A little off-kilter due to the metal casing coming up against the current plug wiring, but once I replace the blade connectors with direct-soldered wires it should fit perfectly. Next: Extruder mount for 7mm frame top-left corner. Probably mounted on a bearing so it can swivel.

The old Prusa i3 is coming together slowly, new custom part by new custom part. I just sticky-taped the PSU to the right side of the i3 frame, so I can chop off most of the bottom and side for the PSU cover…. Oh well, it's already #3DPrinting right now, but I'll add more flair to the final design.

Classic black/white/silver stylings will work nicely for a clean look. I need this #Prusa i3 revamp to be pure #RepRap — but with a 32-bit rocket engine and the benefits of 12 years of software & silicon evolution. I have a simple point to demonstrate about the potential of hobby #3Dprinting!

Your tender #AI tale for a Tuesday evening.
In this story, I will proceed with providing a two-paragraph story about a dog and a minnow fish.
The sun was shining brightly on the lake as Max, a curious golden retriever, sat by the water's edge. He had caught a glimpse of a tiny fin breaking the surface, and his tail started wagging excitedly. As he leaned in closer, he spotted a small minnow fish darting around a patch of lily pads. The dog watched intently, fascinated by the fish's agility.
The minnow fish, feeling threatened by Max's presence, quickly swam to the safety of a nearby rock. Max sat patiently, his ears perked up in an attempt to listen for any sounds from the fish. However, all he heard was the gentle lapping of the water against the shore. Eventually, the dog lost interest and wandered off, leaving the minnow fish to its peaceful existence beneath the lake's surface.
