🎃 #HappyHalloween! 🎃 “” The night was as black… As the cauldron bubbled an eldritch voice shrieked: “When shall we three meet again?” There was a pause. Finally another voice said, in far more ordinary tones: “Well, I can do next Tuesday.” — WS, #TerryPratchett #Halloween #TerryPratchettQuote

It's my birthday!! I'm 49 - how did that happen? I would LOVE it if you could share or follow my art for my birthday, that would be a brilliant gift! Thank you everyone who follows and comments, it is such a great place here! 49 feels ace btw. #artshare #birthday #watercolour www.emilyhare.co.uk
huge dragon (only the head visible) resting in a body of water in a forest. Lots of vines and tree branches dangling down, a stream running over its head and a great white egret taking off from the water next to it. a mermaid with a pink tail resting on a rock and leaning back on her hands as her tail comes out of the water. In the background is a lagoon and some cliffs and further back the hint of a waterfalla precarious tall hill with a wizard's house sitting on top of it with a wisp of smoke coming out of the chimney. It is dusk and all the windows are yellow with the light from inside. a large winged blue dragon prepares to land on a nest with two baby blue dragons waiting in the nest for their dinner.

I just started reading The Chronicles of Amber series by Roger Zelazny. At the start of the books it took some getting used to, but I am enjoying it so far. Has anyone else read these books? #booksky

I noticed while reading The Hobbit on my e-reader that the name of the old raven is spelled Róac and not Roäc like it is in the other (Dutch) version that I have, and also like most sites that I checked. Does anyone know why it is different?

So I’ve kept three things under wraps for a hot minute, and this one of them, albeit the most last minute of the three. Details in the thread: #LOTR #Tolkien #Luinellë
The image is a promotional graphic for A Light in the Darkness Reading Day Event, a day-long celebration of Tolkien’s works. The background features a deep blue, starry sky with a parchment-like texture. On the left side, there is elegant golden text that describes the event, mentioning that it will be a YouTube livestream featuring readings from Tolkien’s stories, discussions, and fundraising efforts for charities supporting fire relief in LA. The text invites both longtime fans and newcomers to Middle-earth to participate in this meaningful community gathering.

On the right side of the image is a detailed illustration by artist Matěj Čadil, depicting a Tolkien-inspired scene. The artwork is framed in a geometric pattern and showcases various elements from Middle-earth, including a swan-shaped ship sailing through the stars, a dragon in a volcanic landscape, elven ships sailing toward the light, Galadriel gazing into her mirror, and a determined hobbit holding a glowing sword. The bottom right of the artwork includes a small credit: "Art by Matěj Čadil." The overall design blends fantasy and celestial elements, evoking the themes of light, hope, and perseverance central to Tolkien’s works.
