The legal inventory of 2024 is the legalisation of the scientific inventory as it was at that time. The inventory itself is a continuous effort. In this case, there had been no updates for a while for this neighborhood and this house was maybe overlooked years ago.

Tbh a lot of 17th c. and older houses in Brussels are proportionnaly less transformed than this one, but still. The price of buildings in the area has no influence whatsoever on the final decision. Buildings are well (becoming) pricey in that area, next to the squares.

I've visited it and I've indeed rarely seen a building in such a bad state. There are no other buildings in such a state that I know of, no. There are hopefully some administrative and financial tools to prevent unoccupancy and neglect.

We were well aware of its historical and archeological value. The demolition was only accepted after a thorough examination process. Sadly all the wooden structures are rotten (mérule) and unsalvageable. The results of years of (deliberate?) neglect

It's much older than that. The roof structures as well as other elements date it back to the early 17th century at least.

Ja, er gebeurt wel iets. Het schepencollege heeft een afschaffingsprocedure van de BBP aangestart en Immobel is zijn project aan het hertekenen. Het heeft inderdaad veel potentieel, maar de eigendomsituatie van de sokkel (met verschillende eigenaars voor de parking) maakt het zeker niet gemakkelijk.
