NASA faces major budget cuts while SpaceX gets more and more of our tax money and yet SpaceX keeps blowing stuff up... They can't even do on Earth was NASA literally does on OTHER PLANETS... why are they getting so much of our Government spending???

This is what an authoritarian regime would do. Hidden deep in Trump’s 1,100-page bill that passed the House today is a provision that would block federal courts from enforcing contempt charges against government officials who violate court orders.

Getting old, I thought, meant mourning the loss of the emotional highs of youth. Romantic adventures, new experiences, thrill of the unknown. Then I had my own children and I've never experienced a more exquisite joy than this.

This is not good. very very very not good. Cutting MSR (Mars Sample Return) is absolutely devastating. Everyone knows we've found something alive up there. We only need to bring it home to confirm in our labs and humanity will have scientific proof that Earth isn't the only home to life.

I want to believe the Telepathy Tapes are telling the truth. My mind is open to the fact that perhaps we don't know everything there is to know about the cosmos. But until I see it for myself, I'm not sure I can get fully onboard. I aim to discover the truth for myself, somehow.

There's an oak tree near my lab. Today a pair of deer stood underneath, feeding on the brush that grows nearby. I considered how the tree forms a similar shape to a bolt of lightning from the sky and wondered if there were beings who fed at the root of that too, up there somewhere.

I can really feel the presence of animals when they're encountered in the wild. There's something 'extra' happening there. There's some sort of subconscious connection, some... quantum phenomenon of communication that happens. I don't sense this at Zoos or by watching videos. Weird and sad.

Everyone around my lab wear fake smiles. We're in a collective mindset of feeling like we are marching toward a cliff to our doom. Pile this on top of JPL's population being so directly affected by LA's fires and two massive lay-offs in recent months. It's rough here these days.

I'm thinking really hard about whether or not I need to unfriend and unfamily the hyper conservative people in my life. I hate that they are the face of everything that's so depressing lately. I'm struggling to compartmentalize my disdain for their beliefs and my history of good times with them.

I do wonder, would people of the opposite political persuasion consider J. Jonah Jameson a surrogate of liberal talking heads when THEY play the Spiderman 2 game? He seems so obviously Republican to me. But is that my own political bias talking? Hmm.

000

thezer.bsky.social @thezer.bsky.social · 16/01/2025

I've been playing Spiderman 2, trying to keep my mind off the impending destruction of our country, when a certain JJJ keeps chiming in. He's so obviously a satire of the Republican talking heads out there. Spiderman defeats a cult and JJJ spouts gibberish about SM infringing on their rights... Ugh.

The Eaton fire is one block away from NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) and remains at zero percent containment. Among so many devastating losses, homes, businesses and infrastructure, the United States is facing the destruction of this historic site. 5500 jobs are tied to that lab.
