Lyrics (continued) and tracklisting:

What’s a Nice Girl Like You Doing in a Place Like This? (part 2)

There's a row of empty seating in an empty waiting room
So get in line and take a number and the nurse will see you soon
But first we need to calm the commentators and the critics
And pacify the parents who keep protesting the clinic

And the angry ex-comedians who think they've found their niche
Mixing photographs of predators with panic and pastiche
And there's pending litigation, and a defamation trial
So if you're wanting medication, you'll be waiting quite a while

And what's a nice girl like you doing in a place like this?
How dare you violate my right for you to not exist
There's a revolution coming, or maybe it's just a turn
I don't want to start a witch hunt, I'm just here to watch you burn

There's a row of shower cubicles with Xs on the door
And vigilante footprints in the bloodstains on the floor
And there's a looping infomercial selling feminist supplies
Like stickers, zines and discount Harry Potter merchandise

While punch drunk thugs in run down pubs are waiting for their cue
To take that multicoloured flag and turn it black and blue
And violence can be lucrative, but silence truly golden
There's fifty times more protest signs than people there to hold them

And what's a nice girl like you doing in a place like this?
Won't someone think of the children? Won't someone think of the kids?
There's a revolution coming, but it's not quite ready yet
We're a little short of people but we'll take what we can get

And how much shit do you think will stick
If we put this on the front page?
How many clicks can we get on these pics
For repulsion to turn to rage?
And how many roads must a man walk down
Before you call him by his name?
How many times do you need to be told
These things are not the same?

What's a nice girl like you doing in a place like this?
If you're lost and need direction, I'd be happy to assist
There's a revolution coming, but I wouldn't hold your breath
I don't want to take your rights, I'm just here to claim what's left

What's a nice girl like you doing in a place like this?
Don't ever call me sister, don't ever call me cis
There's a revolution coming, but it's not one you can join
I don't want to choose a side, I'm just here to toss the coin

Part 1 of this song was written in 2018 in the wake of the murder of Melbourne comedian Eurydice Dixon, and is about the media both enabling and sensationalising misogynistic violence. Part 2 originally arrived in 2021 and addresses the inevitably violent consequences of the trans panic.
