Trialling out 'Simple Twist Of Fate' by Bob Dylan. I go back and forth on covers. Is there any quicker way to admit you're inferior to an artist (worse still when you think you're somehow improving the original)? But then: they're fun to play, audiences like them, and: Who isn't inferior to Dylan?

I played the gig, deliberately avoiding some of my more introspective, delicate material for a Friday night crowd, and two people came up to me afterwards - one said I put them in mind of Syd Barrett, and the other said I reminded them of Nick Drake. Honestly, my ego is still inflated this morning 🙂
