Yes,the great con continues as the powerful try to persuade the little people that the energy crisis is their fault. Next they will persuade us that we need to get slaughtered in a war…..

Yes so although there’s no doubt that there’s a massive increase in temperatures, we are not comparing like with like in terms of colour coding for the reasons you have stated- different channels, different months, one a prediction and the other reality. It’s a small issue in the greater scheme.

I agree it’s terrifying but the change in the colour codes between the two maps makes it look even worse- it’s orange for 40C in the top map and red for 40C in the bottom one. I prefer consistency in colour codes! #pedantic

Plant blindness needs a rebrand such as flora agnosia. I love watching out for the first snowdrops in January or the bluebells in May and the honesty in June . It’s also good for mental health to appreciate nature especially for us urban dwellers

Plastic production has doubled over the last 20 years – and will likely double again. For author Beth Gardiner, metal water bottles and canvas tote bags are not the solution. So what is?

I don't know enough to answer but I believe that there are different types of altimeters and I presume that they operate under different formulae which likely lead to discrepancies.

This is so true. The assumption that learning facts and the ability to think creatively are mutually exclusive is bandied about in education circles. There isn't enough time to learn everything by discovery. We have to learn from those who have lived before us.
