This paragraph from a Gameye post about collecting resonates with me so much.
For myself, it is about what games I love, and the memories they hold.

While I love seeing people who have combed through and gathered every official release for a console, that's just not for me. I'm not really a sports fan (aside from tennis), so you won't find many sports titles on my shelf. But my collection isn't simply a collection of "my favorites." It's a bit more complicated than that. I have duplicate copies of games, broken cases, wrinkled and creased manuals, and discs with deep ring scratches from the time my Xbox 360 got knocked over and ruined my baby brother's cherished copy of Halo 4. Which happened to his copy of Halo Reach as well, oops! Those games aren't just things I own. They're reminders of the people I played them with, the places I was in, and the moments I might otherwise have forgotten.

Wally's right, Kyle.
Kyle Rayner: Wally said social media is worse than Darkseid. I told you, you shouldn't have gotten a phone.

Odyssey: The publicist said it would help my image.

I've already submitted three games to Gameye's database in the last 24 hours, and I'm becoming increasingly annoyed each time I realize said game isn't in the database.
My pending submissions for the Gameye Database: Fire Emblem Musou for Switch, Hanjuku Eiyuu Tai 3D Collector's Edition, and the JP Xenoblade 2 Collector's Edition.

The Butlerian Jihad is real.
Pope Leo XIV: In this era of artificial intelligence, it is becoming urgent to distinguish human art from what machines produce. There is an ontological difference, even before an aesthetic one, between art and what a machine can generate through statistical calculation based on millions of images created by others. Algorithms lack the spark of humanity. For this reason, the Church wishes to renew an alliance with artists and cultural institutions to safeguard our humanity.

Kyle Rayner with the wisdom
Kyle: But the truth is, depite everything I've been through, and honestly it's a LOT...

...I'm still figuring things out myself.

What I can tell you is you need to decaide who you are without the ring, and then be that same person with the ring.

I'm not too happy with how my Famicom, SFC and N64 loose carts are stacked in my bookcase (since you can't see the labels), so I bought some tiered display stands from etsy. They'll display much better once those have been installed in the bookcase.

This line resonated with me SO MUCH.
“What I’ve learned is that people in the game industry didn’t just come here for the stability, or come here for the lifestyle; they came here because, in their head, there was no other choice, but they had to work in games. It’s just what they decided to do and they love it.”

Finally finished Famicom Detective Club: Emio - The Smiling Man. Absolutely fantastic game. A dark, emotional game, especially its epilogue. The story goes to some very dark places (darker than the first two games!), especially near the end, and it's astonishing that Nintendo published it.

I honestly don't think it's related, but it's funny to me that Kojima was decrying the death of physical games at an Italian film festival in July, just a month after Sony apparently withdrew from PHYSINT.
