Ugh, a three month absence this round. Apologies to any reader friends who actively look out for and enjoy my posts. Will you forgive me if I mention that in that time I've had a job change and my appendix out?

Got to indirectly quote Ada Palmer today re: the Alberta Separatists garbage The issue is that this fringe minority is so loud and the idea of it so ridiculous that its getting all of the attention.

We were also luck enough to hear traditional oral storytelling from Dene and Cree elders from the community. Our daughter in particular loved hearing about how the weasel got his winter coat and why the bear sleeps all winter. 💙📚 💙📚💬 #books #localauthor #indigenous

100% agree about it being under represented! The author just built such an incredible and detailed world, I wish a little more of the focus could have been there? Not going to pretend I have any idea of how they could have done it, but thats what the rest of the series is for. 😅

This does mean however that when I went searching for my puzzle books I found 3 seperate ones that were all half finished cause I hadn't flipped to the left side yet. 😅😅😅

000

Micheline @thespicelessreader.bsky.social · 27/01/2026

lol also anyone else go through their puzzle books and only do the right hand pages first and then go back through and fill our the left hand side? 😅 I find it so much easier to roll up the puzzle book the one direction rather than going back and forth.

Anyone else use word puzzles to keep their hands busy while listening to audiobooks? I can't manage a crossword, but a simple fill-in or wordsearch is the perfect level of complex that still lets me concentrate on the story. 💙📚🎧💙📚💬 #booksky #audiobooks #analog
