I will add pressure to this by saying that any company that claims to not hold onto your personal data after verifying you? They're lying. Ive been nitro free since the first time they tried this, voice how you feel with your wallet people. Make them really feel that squeeze.

Reading Group did the Iliad and Odyssey this year, so now we finish with the Aeneid. While the Ancient Greeks were my special area of interest, the Roman Empire and Latin was my actual area of study in undergrad. More than any other time, I'm being transported back to my studies—and I love it. 📚💙🏺

Dolly Parton was the queen of teaching us the power of kindness. Tim Curry was the king of reminding us to embrace being weird. Losing both of these legends at the same time truly feels like a huge chunk of magic has been carved out of our world.

Tim Curry and Dolly Parton have taught us not only that you should be bigger, weirder, gayer, and freakier, but also that those qualities are what people will love about you. The things that make you strange and amazing are the things that will resonate with other strange and amazing people

It’s so intellectually dishonest for anybody to cast Dolly Parton as apolitical. It’s so cynical. It tells me that they think everybody’s values are aesthetic, just for show.

The Library is devastated to learn of the passing of Dolly Parton, a music legend and titan of children's literacy. Her Imagination Library program has earned multiple Library Literacy Awards and, in 2018, she visited us to donate its 100 millionth book to our collection and host a story time. 🦋❤️

One: spouse said the same thing for Menalaus! Two: I personally was quite peeved with Helen’s direction (not Lupita; the characterization). There was so much fuss about Nolan using the Wilson translations, and this Helen direction did not fall in line with those at all.

July sunrise c: some days it's shitty and cold here, but the view is almost acceptable compensation. #lovetaupo

Photo looking south across Lake Taupō, New Zealand, to the Tongariro National Park, a dual national park and UNESCO world heritage site. The mountains covered in snow are left to right Ruapehu, Ngaruahoe and Tongariro. Ngaruahoe was the filming site for Mt Doom in the 2000s Lord of the Rings movie franchise.

The sky is a weird yellow to orange to pink to purple to blue gradient, the mountains blue with white snow, and the lake grey.

Thank you for coming to my TED Talk just wanted to drop some lore

It's bizarre how repeatedly people keep hijacking the conversation about Accessibility away from things like closed captioning, colorblindness support, alt-text for screen-readers, etc, to "Games should be easier to play, books should be easier to read, and shows should be simple to understand"

🏳️‍🌈 Pride Month started not as a celebration, but an uprising. And with three nationwide book banning bills currently circulating through the House and Senate (H.R. 2616, H.R. 8705, and H.R 7661), there is still plenty for us to fight back against in the ongoing quest for queer liberation. 🧵

Cream-colored graphic with a bright, arched rainbow. Underneath the right side of the arch is title text that says, “24 Books About Queer Resistance”. And below the text is a stack of six books, each of which is a different color of the rainbow.

Cream-colored graphic with a pile of squiggly rainbows at the bottom. This slide is titled, “Do you care about protecting LGBTQIA+ stories?” with the following description: “There are three national book banning bills currently circulating through the House and Senate that threaten the freedom to read. H.R. 2616 would withhold ESEA funding from schools that “teach or advance gender ideology”. H.R. 8705 would limit or withhold funding from schools who teach about “gender ideology or discriminatory equity ideology”. H.R. 7661 would prohibit the use of funds to “develop, implement, facilitate, host or promote any program or activity for, or provide/promote literature or other materials to children under the age of 18 that includes sexually oriented material.” Contact your representatives today about voting against these bills so we can protect access to LGBTQIA+ stories!”

a tiny corgi puppy sits atop a wood table and tilts her head dramatically at the camera. she resembles a fluffy toasted marshmallow. her ears are a little rounded at the points, and her markings make it look like she’s wearing two perfectly matched white ankle socks. she’s surrounded by lush greenery in the background.

Wanting escapism in your media is fine, but denying the existence of explicitly political messaging in a work because you desperately wish to escape it is such a braindead and all too common take. These same people also want to partake in discourse about said media while ignoring its crucial themes
