#Top4RandomCommander Day 16! Atla Palani, Nest Tender is pretty much exactly what you’d expect: extra eggs so you can crack ‘em open! What are your favorite Yolks for Atla? Are you a Spaghetti Monster Connoisseur? Or are you hatching big Dragons or Dinosaurs?

Just like the Origins flip walkers, I always love a way to put a Planeswalker in the command zone :P

This has been a rough pill to swallow as I’ve gotten older and, hopefully, a little wiser. There is no automatic trust, even if **I** know I mean no harm. That knowledge to others has to be earned.

I’ve been on leave all of last week and this week, today being my last day. And it’s been okay. I’ve played a lot of video games. So how yall been?

Oh my God, just seeing the news that Pac has passed away. Only 40 years old, this is so damn sad. I hope his friends and family are taking time and processing this. What a loss for the entire world. nypost.com/2026/09/28/s...

#Top4RandomCommander Day ... 14? 15? I forget! The Master, Gallifrey's End is my favorite kind of Rakdos deck: one that plays with sacrifice and politics! I'm not super smart on Dr. Who stuff, did The Master make Daleks or was that someone else?

020

The Seth Cross @thesethcross.bsky.social · 22/09/2026

#Top4RandomCommander Day 14! Inga Rune-Eyes is interesting because it's a sacrifice-style deck in mono-blue. You don't have aristocrat pay-offs, so you're more of a value engine. You also don't have access to black's reanimation, but maybe there's artifact stuff? I LOVE a good Reef Worm deck!

First day of burning up my use/lose leave and yup, woke up to a message from work.

#Top4RandomCommander Day 13! Polukranos, Unchained is one of those Golgari commanders I’ve seen but never had the time and energy to build. This top 4 DID make me realize just how many cards say “double the counters” or “twice that many counters” and holy smokes it’s a lot!

The Seth Cross @thesethcross.bsky.social · 20/09/2026

#Top4RandomCommander Day 12! Magus Lucea Kane is “Temur X Stuff” that basically has the dreaded “when something happens, double it” but in a more interesting way! I’ll say, these are the 4 highest synergy cards and the top cards weren’t that bad! I love so many of the UB designs!

Look. We need to just start saying the reality of things. Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro, the COMPANIES, the ENTITIES, not the people that work WITHIN THEM... They're not great. People? Outstanding. Some of the coolest folks I've talked to. Company is trash.

I've continuted more of this historical-order loredump on my Discord server, but to divert from that for a moment, I want to talk about one of my FAVORITE parts of Kranin history, which happens several thousand years after creation; The Kingdom of the Exiled.

Hi everyone it’s my birthday today 🥳 I know times are tough so the only gift I would ask from everyone is just checking out my commander deckbuilding website www.commandertemplate.com or sharing it with their friends today. ❤️

I think that Wizards could have used Echoverse as a kind of "reset" button for Magic were, in the climax of the story and the planes starting to merge, some things were carried over/kept. I could have seen Tamiyo, Venser, Gideon, etc. coming back as their echo versions. Might have been cool.

#Top4RandomCommander Day 11! Leonardo, Worldly Warrior ultimately disappointed me with the top cards. I expected ways to make lots of tokens at a lower cost, but it’s some removal and evasion and a bit of card draw. Maybe I need to start doing High Synergy Random Commander 😅

As a former-Dimir-agent-turned-Golgari-Rot-Farmer, I can honestly say that I'm not the most impressed by the Elder Sphinx for Hexhaven. A total mana of 6 is not as impressive as it coule be to me. They could have said each spell cannot be more than 3 mana value.

I've mentioned this a few times over the years, but as a teenager, I aspired to be an author. My biggest love was high fantasy, with fleshed out worlds like Middle-Earth, Discworld, and the settings of Dungeons and Dragons. This led me to creating my own setting, the world of Kranin.

130

The Seth Cross @thesethcross.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

I made a mini thread about my high-fantasy world setting that I had created when I was a teen and it just DIDN'T post.

#Top4RandomCommander Day 10! Jason Bright is a mono-blue Zombie Typal commander that can give his undead minions evasion via flying! I like how it plays with non-base powers, mixed with some Aristocrat shenanigans. I really like decayed zombies as both sac fodder or ways to draw by giving counters!

In about 3 hours, we stabilized our food, lumber and started securing power even without flowing water. We protected ourselves against Badtides, and even the droughts aren't that bad! I like the map so far. It's small and a bit on the simple side, but charming <3 #Timberborn

I'm struggling to remember my FF8 lore. Who BUILT this thing, the Lunatic Pandora? I know it had the means to call monsters from the moon, but like... Is the crystal pillar inside a natural phenomenon? Was it all sorceresses? Seems like such an odd invention.

It’s been 3 days since I last posted. I’ve been fully absorbed into playing Timberborn and Dani is away this weekend so it’s me and the boys. Whats up? I miss anything good?

God, Timberborn has me looking up YT videos about how dams work. Not how dams work in the game. But how REAL LIFE dams work. So I can apply it to the game. DAM IT, BEAVER COLONY SURVIVAL GAME! :P

The Seth Cross @thesethcross.bsky.social · 31/08/2026

Been playing Timberborn a lot this week/weekend and finally managed to get a colony to complete the main wonder for the starter clan of beavers! I think next, I'm doing an Iron tooth clan with a different map. This game is tons of fun!

A) I need to get back to doing these posts, I like them :) B) Roshan has been on my mind as of late and I don't know why. Mono-Black Morph Assassins is... A thing, I guess?

The Seth Cross @thesethcross.bsky.social · 27/08/2026

It's weird, but I feel like Will Ospreay has been the main character for the top story of AEW, regardless of what his feud has been, for a long time now. He's almost like Daniel Bryan was in WWE a few years back with the Yes Movement in how people talk about him.

The Seth Cross @thesethcross.bsky.social · 26/08/2026

If WotC had a branch off calling themselves Hobbits of Middle Earth (HoME) with a game called Middle-Earth: the Adventuring that had cards looking like this, I'd never buy another Magic card for the rest of my life.

This might be a hottake on the Trans Spooder, but it's kinda weird to me that we're so focused on the person being formerly Peter Parker. I'm not against the transgender representation, have at it! But wouldn't an original character be... Better? But I also recognize, it's not up to me.
