✨STILL DISABLED✨ Disability may become more palatable for you due to the aesthetics of the “able gaze,” but ! am just as disabled when I am in my wheelchair as I am when I am using my prosthetic. Disability is not a LOOK. It is a form of identity.

Are the terms disabled and visibly different interchangeable? The short answer is NO. Not everyone with a disability has a visible difference. Invisible disabilities exist and can be just as serious as visible ones. Also, not everyone with a visible difference will identify as being disabled.

I have the mirena IUD and have been having horrific hormonal problems for the last several months. This coupled with the threat of birth control being on the chopping block in the coming years inspired me to go to the doctor and see if I could replace my device a little early. /1
