✨STILL DISABLED✨ Disability may become more palatable for you due to the aesthetics of the “able gaze,” but ! am just as disabled when I am in my wheelchair as I am when I am using my prosthetic. Disability is not a LOOK. It is a form of identity.

Graduated valedictorian of my high school class… but at what cost 🤭🎓😅 Disabled and chronically ill kids, like myself, are told so often that we are worth less than non disabled people. So, it’s quite common for us to develop a perfectionist mindset. Anyone else struggle with this growing up? 😬

Hyper independent disabled baddie here ✌🏼 Disabled people, and especially disabled women, are used to over compensating and getting things done on their own. Sometimes it’s about proving our worth, other times it’s about control. And for people like me, it’s some ✨fun✨ combination of the two 🤗
