Thought about it all through that game. Points deductions and fines are just not commensurate with the degree of cheating. Only full expulsion from league football and forced sale of the club would be sufficient imo

What is the significance of inflatable bananas, I hear you ask.

It has been a trend at Man City since the 1987-88 season when they had been relegated to the second tier. They had a striker called Imre Varadi, who was called Imre Banana by one fan. That led another fan to bring an inflatable banana with him to the next game and it was a trend that stuck throughout the rest of the 80s and the 90s.

The travelling City fans are clearly trying to have a bit of fun in the face of discussion about a potential relegation back to the second tier, or lower.

We have some real gems in Gomes, Manzambi and Jackson, brilliant footballers. Complete lack of control is alarming tho, defence isn’t good enough or fast enough to cope with runners coming on to them all the time. I hope we’re looking out for left-sided CBs for January #avfc
