Space dogs

Black and white painting of 2 dogs, one dog wearing large goggles and the other dog wearing some kind of astronaut hood

I was of course early on my feet yesterday when Requiem was released and just finished it today on my second sitting. I had a blast with it and found it a truly interesting combination of its survival horror origins and the more action based games that came with the fourth game. Much love ♥️

I went bouldering for the first time ever, trying to be brave and a little more physically active. Admittedly my lazy body was screaming in exertion, but it was all in all a pretty cool time. Just gotta try new things more often.

I hope I'll have energy for personal projects once I'm done with my thesis, because now I really wanna make a cosy fantasy cooking adventure game where you play as my little frog fella named Pip, who absolutely loves cooking above all else. Throwing some Wind Waker / BotW mechanics into the mix too.

I've settled into my new apartment, and it's quite nice. There's not as much space here, but I think I prefer it. There was quite a bit of echo in my old apartment. There's a lot more traffic here, too, so it balances out any noise that comes from the building. So far so good.

Now that I've been on a little escape from the noises of city life, I've had the pleasure of having the wide wild woods just a few steps away from the front door. Feels good to be here. It's home.

I set a goal at the beginning of the year to read six books. Having just finished reading Neuromancer, which I enjoyed, I only need to read two more. It's a tough choice picking the next one though 🤔

I might have secured a new apartment! 😭 It's a lot smaller than my current one, but its layout is so much cozier than any other I've lived in and it's a newer one with (apparently) more peaceful atmosphere and better soundproofing. Just gotta wait for confirmation though.

Well, I'm planning to move... again. All I want is good sound proofing and neighbours who aren't dicks. Sick and tired of waking up during the night. Sigh...

I went to see the new Superman movie a few days ago and it was genuinely great! I haven't watched a lot of superhero stuff in a while, but this one was a lovely surprise. It had a lot of good vibes and an awesome contrast to the gritty and dark content that we mostly get nowadays. More of this pls!

I've been struggling a bit in getting started with my thesis project since my neighbours tend to absolutely ruin my sleeping schedule. All I can do is make more complaints for now, but I've finally gotten into doing worldbuilding and other general writing for the game. I'm excited for it ❤️

Hideo Kojima says big-budget games today are safe and tremendously boring 🎮💤 “People making military games probably don't know how to dismantle or shoot a gun… that's kind of sad” “[I do], because I've been doing this training … and I learned so many ways to kill people” He did not elaborate

1/4 I beat Death Stranding 2 just now. To say that I'm a confused mess of emotions would be an understatement. I loved it a lot. There were times when I questioned that, but in its jaw droppingly baffling moments there is an amazing balance that, in my opinion, makes it a very different experience

It's taken me most of the day to replace my motherboard and cpu, but holy moly am I glad that it's done. Still installing drivers and apps, but now my PC is once more future proof and Windows 11 compatible. I can work on my projects without having to worry about that stuff.

I haven't played far yet (episode 3), but I've loved DS2 so far. As is my habit, I won't post any spoilers, but I might publish some scenery shots that I've taken of this beautiful game at some point. Keep on keeping on 👍🏻

REmake4 beaten! I've been wondering if Capcom might remake 5 after this and now, after finishing the remade Separate Ways, I'm sure they will eventually. Looking forward to how they pull that off and more RE in general.

I thought I'd try something different for a change and took a chance with The Order: 1886 and... Dammit, this is, in my opinion, an underrated game. Yes, it is VERY linear, but the worldbuilding, the story, and the characters are super cool. It's incredible to think this came out in 2015 for PS4...

I went back to play the Resident Evil 4 remake that I hadn't finished and my love for this genre is reignited. I hope to explore more survival horror after this and I especially need to play the original first game still. I have only played its remake, but otherwise I've finished all the originals.

In light of the live action Lilo & Stitch apparently being a propaganda film and dismissing the original messages, I thought I'd watch the 2002 movie again. Sure, I have strong nostalgic ties to it, but I love that movie so much. And the music!

One thing I really like about the place I live in now is that there are so many dogs. I just need to take a seat beside my favourite walking path in the afternoon and watch a dozen dogs go by. Many of them want so desperately to say hi.

Well, I finally permanently deleted my account on the other website. Realised I simply wasn't using it anymore even to read what my favourite indies were up to. The only thing that I already miss are Kojima's thoughts and news...

Finally! A separate order from the main one I'm still waiting for has arrived. I get to add this ~430 page tale to my shelf :)

A book by Christopher Buehlman named 'Between Two Fires'. Subtitle: An epic tale of medieval horror.

Again, I'm so thankful for the tutoring teacher I got. I actually feel hopeful that I might be able to finish my thesis and all in time for graduation. He may not have been my first pick when I searched for a teacher, since he works at a different campus, but he is the one I needed. He's awesome.
