Matt Hrdlicka @therealhrdlicka.bsky.social · 6hI think this is the first pre-season ever where watching the Grizzlies has solidified my thoughts on how the season will go. 030
Matt Hrdlicka @therealhrdlicka.bsky.social · 20hBoozer creates three straight three point possessions with an and-one off an inbounds, a tap pass to Grant for 3, then his own 3. 130
Matt Hrdlicka @therealhrdlicka.bsky.social · 21hI am honestly torn on how good they will be this year, bc I think they’ll be fine just keeping their guys healthy until the deadline, trading 1-2 of them, and being a three ball lotto team. If they were healthy and really pushed, I think they could be the 8-9 seed 010
Matt Hrdlicka @therealhrdlicka.bsky.social · 21hI am going to enjoy the next 7-10 years of the Cam Boozer Grizzlies. 190

Matt Hrdlicka @therealhrdlicka.bsky.social · 07/10/2026I read the line "the mausoleum of all human hope and desire" when I was a senior in high school and I was like, Oh yes, this is the good shit. 010

Matt Hrdlicka @therealhrdlicka.bsky.social · 06/10/2026not saying you're wrong to feel the way you do. That was 90's/00's, this is 2026. Things have changed. I just want to allow for grace if this was an isolated event from a kid. If he was doing this stuff last year or 10 years ago, well that's different to me. 100
Matt Hrdlicka @therealhrdlicka.bsky.social · 06/10/2026I'm not condoning the tweets, but I will say that I could give you hundreds of examples of stuff I did in HS and college that was worse than these, and it took me getting outside a sports/football bubble to even see what was problematic about what I was saying. 100
Matt Hrdlicka @therealhrdlicka.bsky.social · 06/10/2026I respect your opinion. I do think he has the chance to show he's grown up if he stays in the job, and if he hasn't then the Portland market is self-regulating in the sense that that behavior will become a major issue and get him fired. I'd prob agree with you if he was six or 7 years older fwiw. 120
Matt Hrdlicka @therealhrdlicka.bsky.social · 06/10/2026The only quarter baked prediction I have set in stone involves Boozer's defense. 000
Matt Hrdlicka @therealhrdlicka.bsky.social · 06/10/2026my daughter is 11 and she told me the other day that she hated me and her mom and hoped we both died. I do not have high hopes for her employment prospects once she gets social media lol. 020
Matt Hrdlicka @therealhrdlicka.bsky.social · 06/10/2026while I won't ever click on an article of this type, I will say I tend to agree with the overall point. There are only 30 of this type of job, and being the guy who tweeted this stuff as a high schooler shouldn't make him unemployable in this position. 200
Matt Hrdlicka @therealhrdlicka.bsky.social · 06/10/2026another way to think about this: Wells on his next deal is the exact opposite of a player a bad team should have on the roster. $13mm or so of neutral/slightly bad value contract is not what you want. 000
Matt Hrdlicka @therealhrdlicka.bsky.social · 06/10/2026I think you're thinking about Boozer a little differently than me. Also, I think Wells' value is that when he plays with better players, he profits. If he is your weak link on defense you have a top 5 defense probably? If he plays with better passing, his % stand to go up. 200
Matt Hrdlicka @therealhrdlicka.bsky.social · 06/10/2026I don't think Wells can be more than what you are saying. That piece might still be worth an extension, but I dont think he's going to suddenly start dribbling the ball or anything. Coward...... stay tuned! 100
Matt Hrdlicka @therealhrdlicka.bsky.social · 06/10/2026I don't think I've seen the head room from Small to be a starter, but to your point, he and SPJ are similar shapes of players, and he might just be the player cycled in if they move SPJ. 100

It's not that I don't have predictions - I do! It's not even that I think 110
Matt Hrdlicka @therealhrdlicka.bsky.social · 06/10/2026This would be my opinion, without really trying to make room for "the importance" of a show. I can't do that since I haven't seen quite a few of these. If we were going single seasons, then S1 of The White Lotus would easily be in the top 10. 000
Matt Hrdlicka @therealhrdlicka.bsky.social · 06/10/2026I've never seen Curb, 6 Feet Under, Veep, Stranger Things, The Crown, and a whole host of others. I am tempted to say Silicon Valley is in the top 20, but it does fail at being a comedy pretty often during its run. 100
Matt Hrdlicka @therealhrdlicka.bsky.social · 06/10/2026I think my top 10 TV shows would be : Definitely in: Mad Men, Breaking Bad, The Wire, LOST, Game of Thrones, Parks and Rec In: Fleabag, Survivor In consideration for last 2 spots: The Challenge, Halt and Catch Fire, The Office, The Sopranos (NR on NYT list?), and Friday Night Lights 200
Matt Hrdlicka @therealhrdlicka.bsky.social · 05/10/2026I feel like if you win a title, the onus is on the owner to pay, and if he doesn't then it's on them. 010
Matt Hrdlicka @therealhrdlicka.bsky.social · 05/10/2026maybe they could give the expansion team access to the full cap, but remove the floor. But if they spend up to X % of the cap, then they lose the lottery ball protection. Making the tradeoff more explicit makes sense to me. 000
Matt Hrdlicka @therealhrdlicka.bsky.social · 05/10/2026an easy fix: if the current lottery rules hold through expansion (big IF), then make the expansion team a 3 ball team if they finish last - tenth. If they make the play-in, the rules hold. How much cap they start with is easily fungible. 100
Matt Hrdlicka @therealhrdlicka.bsky.social · 05/10/2026Strongly recommend everyone reading this piece through to the end. The tradeoffs for how exactly to start an expansion team (draft, starting salary cap, etc) are more nuanced than I thought. 111
Matt Hrdlicka @therealhrdlicka.bsky.social · 05/10/2026this is a really great article and offers a lot of hidden tradeoffs for expansion that I had not at all considered. 110
Matt Hrdlicka @therealhrdlicka.bsky.social · 05/10/2026JESUS CHRIST THIS IS THE GREATEST PASS IVE EVER SEEN AND ITS PRESEASON 0174
Matt Hrdlicka @therealhrdlicka.bsky.social · 03/10/2026Their number one asset is the 27 draft pick, and I would hate to really fill in a specific position until I saw where that top pick fell. 000
Matt Hrdlicka @therealhrdlicka.bsky.social · 03/10/2026Outside of Boozer and Coward, I’m not sure I have 60% confidence that any single other player will still be on roster in 4 years. 100
Matt Hrdlicka @therealhrdlicka.bsky.social · 03/10/2026I think my broad take for this team is: everyone chill for a year and let’s see what we have. I think we have okay shooting relative to league, but a lot of it is so young. Boozer might actually turn into the best shooting four in the NBA one day. 100
Matt Hrdlicka @therealhrdlicka.bsky.social · 03/10/2026I did think they might keep Hawkins just to fill a shooter role in spot mins and keep a $7mm expiring, but didn’t feel strongly about that (and he isn’t a prototypical Grizzly) 100
Matt Hrdlicka @therealhrdlicka.bsky.social · 03/10/2026They are a major stalking horse for 2027 RFAs. My favorite target for them is Anthony Black, as a play either backcourt spot guy. 110
Matt Hrdlicka @therealhrdlicka.bsky.social · 03/10/2026I had Hawkins in a group of the rest of the end of the roster guys. Maybe this just means he has a minimum deal somewhere. I suspect this means Taylor Hendricks will make the roster. 000

Matt Hrdlicka @therealhrdlicka.bsky.social · 30/09/2026I do not want the owner of Bournemouth - a very smart PL team - to own a Western Conference team. 000
Matt Hrdlicka @therealhrdlicka.bsky.social · 29/09/2026Without saying the company, we handled one of these companies trade show exhibit schedules, and we ended up firing them as a client. Only done that a handful of times in over 15 years. This is unsurprising. 030
Matt Hrdlicka @therealhrdlicka.bsky.social · 29/09/2026with that said, man, I do not expect an iron clad 20 year renewal or anything lol 000
Matt Hrdlicka @therealhrdlicka.bsky.social · 29/09/2026he could have left his answer at "I'm not involved" and the question was equally about winning and the fans identifying with this team with the lease hanging out there, so he could have easily just talked about that. Just a silver lining, I think. 100
Matt Hrdlicka @therealhrdlicka.bsky.social · 29/09/2026I think it's notable that, even after saying he isn't involved in lease negotiations day to day, Zach Kleiman said that he hears things are on the right track, and they're where they should be. 230
Matt Hrdlicka @therealhrdlicka.bsky.social · 29/09/2026I wanted Herbert and was semi-in on the Chargers as a whole. Every guy got picked ahead of me and I ended up with Trevor Lawrence. In general I do always try to go high or low with QB; this year it's worked so far. 110
