It’s so weird because I just think they stopped caring, not that they weren’t capable. Some of the best early season content was the showrunners changing things from books. Namely Arya as Tywin’s cup-bearer. Those scenes were some of the best in the show. I think they couldn’t wait for it to end.

Was that from S2? The Henry Rollins crew? Again, I have not seen this stuff in more than a decade. I know there’s was “much worse” than that later in the seasons.

But we have to understand the NCAA did all this shit on purpose to generate so much chaos that it could consistently beseech Congress for Anti-Trust Exemptions, something they have done many times over 4 years and they are now actually close. We’ve never seen the NIL system work with order.

Like, do I think NIL and the Transfer portal have a causal impact on how well coaches do season to season and where the dollars and chaos of it all can quickly and negatively reflect on leadership? Sure. The upheaval of rosters every offseason, the comparative costs issues amongst players.

It was really weird seeing him spoken of with reverence and whatnot, getting hardened backers and yet every decision Jon made post Castle Black and especially post stabbing was basically wrong. You never actually see him win anything again until he stabs Dany.

I mentioned TWD in a different thread on the topic, mostly because it’s sprawl. Last episode I watched was JSS. Never returned to any of it in any form after and until I discovered Santa Clarita Diet, TWD basically killed any viewing of Zombie content. Never my favorite anyways, but TWD sank it.

The cheerleading cruelty is an excellent way to discuss the cracks that saw it erode. There would always be that element, but often late it got very forced, and the topics took an intentional veering into it without remorse.

I had like the first 5 seasons on DVD and literally sold them for pennies on the dollar immediately after watching that shit. I’ve had Hulu since the Fox/Disney merger and have watched The Shield, Justified, The Americans, Terriers, etc. Never SOA as I vanquished Sons Of Anarchy from my life.

He was always dour, but at least there was some aggression and ambition even if a bit bumbling early on. I once argued he was basically useless after the Attack on Castle Black and the show never used him smartly again. He failed at almost every big plot point from then on.

Cersei was also a dead fish post S4. It worked in moments, like her destroying the Sept and sipping wine, but she retreated too far within her sneering venom to even be interesting when sneering or venomous. She couldn’t pull off Brooding.

Snow had charisma initially, and then they leaned so far into the he died and is still dead inside mopiness that he became an idiot parrot of insufferability. Similar with Dany… her arc fell off a cliff as she toiled vs Harpy hoard. She became very one-note. The tragedy was they did same with Tyrion

Lots of great ones mentioned. I was all in on Sons Of Anarchy, and the last few seasons were so awful in quality and content I’ve literally never watched a single episode of any season since the finale. Might be a “me” thing with the show, but it was truly awful by the end.

For me, one that should be obvious and is maybe the only AMC venture like this is The Walking Dead. Similarly, I was all in on Sons Of Anarchy and its last seasons in quality and content were so awful to me I have never rewatched a single episode since its end. Not even the good ones.

Twin Peaks S2 also goes so far off the rails because Lynch pulled back out of spite for being forced a reveal, and nobody could recreate the quirky/terror tonality and episodes went WTF in a hurry. Holds some value, but it took decades, a Lynch film many hated, & The Return to be appreciated again.

Game Of Thrones is that. Almost every character got worse following S4. Some got insufferable. Exception was probably Jaime, but then they undid his arc, too. Everyone got dumb in a hurry. Others like How I Met Your Mother had a gimmick undo its appreciation and almost every person got worse.

General assumption of mine is any show that goes much longer than 5 seasons is going to dramatically suffer in quality because longer run means more writers, more visions, more directors, more budgetary drama, etc. But outright ruin, that’s reserved for the shows who fundamentally change itself.

I’m not sure it’s “one of”… even the other terrible #1 picks were serviceable rotation players. Bennett was such a bust he was gone from the league on his rookie deal, starting only 4 games total for 4 separate teams yearly. Shit, his PPG was 4. The inverse of the 4-4-4 from Moses.

If you look up every headline about this context from 2003, every reference to the band will read Dixie Chicks. I ain’t here on the internet to meat the most unserious yet worst people in the world, not receive contextual construction of passive aggressivity instruction in joke telling.

If I was referring to the film, Juno, then, yes. The Chicks didn’t exist in 2003. The Dixie Chicks did. Elliot Page wasn’t in Juno. It’s OK to refer to a specific when recalling a specific time even if then and now are different.

This is the stupidest argument. I referenced two dead singers too. I was bringing Bryant back in the day with country musicians unafraid of taking a stand and not being boot lickers. Sometimes a joke can exist, but still mean something. That’s all my post was trying to do. Read the tone.

It was a throwback to 25 years ago, when the Dixie Chicks stood up for a cause like real country musicians. I do know they changed their name. But when they were boycotted for being anti-war/Bush, they hadn’t yet.

The Bible literally tells its readers to be wary of Wolves In Sheep Clothing and you will Know A Tree By Its Fruit. But that was meant for people who also understood “This I Command Of Thee, Love One Another” was said by Jesus right after he talked about people hating him for doing the right thing.

It’s all about the disrespect after. The crouch, the double barrel finger points, the whole scene was dripping with Kemp Swagger.

As a Suns fan who is already dealing with a toxic owner who loves him some toxic Miles Bridges and toxic Isiah Thomas, I’m gonna assume this means toxic Isiah Thomas can’t be affiliated with Suns any longer.

I’ve been able to introduce them to so much of the 80s and 90s. Their mom is very similar in tastes and did much as well, and is also probably more classic rock driven than me. And they have then challenged me with new appreciations and genres and bands.

I’ll definitely disagree on the albums of the 90s not holding up, but I will also admit I am greatly biased here and worship almost every genre with multiple incredible albums that hold up for me. But I also say like what you like. I too enjoy much modern, and am lucky my niece and nephew help here.

At least consistently with every release. Late 90s with song sharing, then shortly into 00s you saw the rise of the iTunes single, so many many more deep cuts are carved into the minds of Gen X. For me, I’ve purchased many random albums for these vs the released singles, hence why talk to Gen-Xer.

Oh, I know. I’ve fringe Gen X. Basically eldest year millennial. But lots of shared 80s/90s music. Go to any comment section for 90s music and you’ll see so many “last great era” comments. I say it because many Gen X know so many deep cuts because it was the last era where the whole album mattered.

Man. I’ve been doing it wrong… how dare I begin at thrift stores and yard sales in the 90s and continue with antique and collectible stores in the 2000s and now bid on collections at estate sales. How dare I talk to old-timers & Gen-Xers & my niece & nephews to cross-pollinate liked bands & albums!

Find an old-timer, talk to them about their greatest generation of music. They will tell you where to go. Find a Gen-Xer who thinks the 90s was the last great musical era. They will find you deep cuts. Talk to your kids or nieces/nephews, share music, they will be happy to share chat up their faves.

When I lived in Flag we would get mostly late October for first snows, which meant I’d go camping late Sept and early Oct. one year by Mormon lake, late Sept we were caught in a first snow with freezing rain. Brutal. Ended that trip after the second night.

Hersey was a professional scorer. He wasn’t elite, but he was well above starter quality at peak. Marrow was solid, and also shocking, but Delk, effectively a 6th-7th man in quality going 50 on zero threes was always crazy to me. Compare to Morrow at 8 threes, but Hersey only had 2 on 4 attempts.

I’ve literally argued for years NCAA was playing Congress to secure an Anti-Trust exemption. It’s working. People told me Congress would never get involved, or why would NCAA look so powerless… well, they just got the Senate to give them their heart’s desire. Took 4 years, but it’s inching closer.
