We didn’t used to platform such opinions for a reason and that reason was a demonstrable negative impact on the oppressed minority. Causing harm to people and arguing “sides” is bullshit because you are impacting people’s human right to be safe. That is barbaric and cruel choice. Shame on the BBC.

I’ve been experimenting growing basil and OMG, it hates being crowded. I had 200 seed in a packet and I have totally over sewed the seeds. The ones that have proper taken have all the space. I put 20 seeds in each little grow pot when I should have just put in 5 or 6.

I dislike how academia has disconnected itself as if all aspects aren’t part of an ecosystem. When I was doing my MSc in AI, I was sent over to sociology to learn about ethics but it wasn’t baked into how they taught us about coding. Like it was a tag on. Nope, ethics needs to be part of the DNA.

I bought a tumbling tom tomato plant this year and it brought us a lot of joy. This year I’m going to try growing micro dwarf tomatoes from seed as it’s something I want to get good and learn about. I’m not great at small talk but I’m good at talking about plants and gardening.

I watched ‘Good Will Hunting’ again last night and Sean’s analysis of Will was similar to how I feel about AI. Yes it can solve mathematical equations, but when asked about love it can only give me stuff from books. It doesn’t know how anything really feels. That’s tacit knowledge, life experience.

I’m using Duck Duck Go, I click on a news item and just the page asking if I want to subscribe has 10 trackers on it that Duck Duck Go has blocked. Privacy is a human right, it’s in the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights. I’m happy to pay for subscriptions but not to lose a human right.
