Well, these guys decided to play silly sausages 😅 Had a little problem coupling them up, a little help from maintenance to get them to play nice. Got a bit of education in case something like that ever happens again. Always be open to learning more! You never ever know everything.

Last overnight shift of 9 tonight. Had some snags with the 150s last night as they were playing silly sausages when trying to couple them up. Bit of juggling the order of the 150s tonight and hopefully out to the shed nice and easy. Roll on 4am 😅

My train took a wave to the face at 60mph going across Dawlish today. Quite an experience. Couldn't see a thing for a few seconds. That moment you see it hit the sea wall and go skyward knowing you're about to go through it! Got a nice oh dear from me 😅

You know when things seem to follow you? Had to get the saw out this morning down Falmouth to do so vegetation management as we found a tree has fallen blocking a good chunk of the line. Oh and part of it was full of brambles which attacked me 😅 Fun Old morning!

Well.. today was something new! Drove the route proving train to Plymouth. Had to stop a grand total of 9 times on the way to clear various obstructions. Glad we have got trains running again now after a crazy weekend. Just the branch lines to get back tomorrow. Time to rest. Till tomorrow!

I have the power.... to enter the single line staff section to St Ives. A simple method as old as the railway to ensure that no more than one train can enter a single line at once. Without this I go no where. I have a sneaky suspicion that this is extreamly old. P.S. Non active cab etc etc

DID YOU KNOW. IETs have a snow brake function When certain conditions are met it can be activated. Once on the friction brakes very gently apply, rubbing against the wheel and causing heat. This stops the build-up of ice and snow around the brake system, avoiding it freezing up and failing.
