They’re doing everything in their power to try and get me to hate this movie, but I will not be swayed until I see the finished project.

Finale tonight. I’ve been really enjoying this show these last two months despite maybe not being everything I would want from a Green Lantern show. As far as TV goes, this is primo stuff, and I love Aaron Pierre and Kyle Chandler, and I can’t wait to see what they do in Man of Tomorrow.

Wendy Carlos should be on the 20 dollar bill. There should be a 50-foot-tall, solid-gold statue of her in Pawtucket. You should be able to buy all her albums in any format you want and a line of custom branded synths. She should be a household name along with Bob Moog.

I don’t have any evidence to back this up, but this is how I would describe the different branches of Resident Evil film adaptations: Paul W.S. Anderson: Inspired by Welcome to Raccoon City: Adaptation Animated direct-to-dvd: Continuations Zack Cregger: Based on

Best kaiju designed by an eight year old who just saw Godzilla for the first time. (Complimentary.)

It takes you 20 paragraphs to get to the part of the article where they admit that Mamdani isn't paying the influencers and the reason they are posting videos of the stuff Mamdani is doing is because people are interested in watching it.

The mayor’s office says that it does not pay the influencers. Still, their proximity and access to a figure as popular as Mr. Mamdani can help increase their own social media following and, by extension, potentially put them in a position to attract paid content sponsorships from commercial brands. Some influencers said that when they feature Mr. Mamdani, the videos get more likes and viewers watch longer.

Single again, but I did meet someone during my afternoon walk. She’s kind of cute.

A picture of my arm with a Carolina Mantis perched on it.

The world of The Ghost in the Shell makes perfect sense once you realize it’s a future where the gooners won.

So, is this the best of the Holland movies? Maybe. It’s definitely superior to both Far From Home and No Way Home.

when we mourn le guin, we mourn one of our greatest writers & thinkers. but we also mourn one of our all-time greatest haters

All you do is take all the sex out, and use little short words, and little dumb ideas, and don't be too scary, and be sure there's a happy ending. Right? Nothing to it. Write down. Right on.

If you do all that, you might even write Jonathan Livingston Seagull and make twenty billion dollars and have every adult in America reading your book.

But you won't have every kid in America reading your book. They will look at it, and they will see straight through it, with their clear, cold, beady little eyes, and they will put it down, and they will go away. Kids will devour vast amounts of garbage (and it is good for them) but they are not like adults: they have not yet learned to eat plastic.

Spider-Man Hot Takes: Andrew Garfield is the best Spider-Man. Homecoming, Far From Home, and No Way Home would all be much better without the baggage of the MCU. No Way Home is the worst of the movies.

Funniest unintentional laugh of the year has got to go to The Odyssey for when John Leguizamo casually tossed that puppy off the cliff. You know what dude? Maybe you deserve to be blind.

I’ve been watching The Prisoner on Criterion and my favorite character so far is the big red phone.

Number 2 from The Prisoner in the background staring nervously at a big red phone in the foreground that kind of looks like a crescent moon.

Number 2 answering a big red phone that looks like a Red Crescent moon.

Imagining his crossing of the Delaware but framed just like the painting. They’re in a blizzard and Washington throws his sword right through a redcoat when they touch shore, storming it like in Saving Private Ryan. This movie could unite the country.

I hate to hand it to him but Zack Snyder wanted to do something like this with his own historical retelling of George Washington’s life. American Revolution meets 300, and honestly? We should just let him do it. Why not?
