We had 12 weeks of drought this summer, so we are looking to increase our rainwater collection this winter. One way is this – a collapsible water butt holding 380 litres. It’s in the veg patch with no gutter pipe attached, I’m hoping the opening will collect enough water for next summer. 1/4

Building the new work platform - many more opportunities to fall from a great height when cutting trees/hedges/ roofs around the place. My last, shorter one, gave up the ghost with me climbing up - ended on the floor with it on top smashed against an electric fence - fortunately only bruises!

This goblin was printed on my 4 colour centauri carbon 2 - he weighs a gram, the poop, created at every colour change on each layer, weighs 120+ grams. Lesson: Multi nozzle printers are a must for colour printing! Abit of dry brushing made him table ready.

Survived going into London and back today. 20 years ago, on 14 July 2006 we got an allotment. 6 weeks later we pulled our first crop: today the squashes are starting to crop again (we no longer have the allotment having moved 15 years ago to a smallholding).

I also printed this on the new FDM printer - a spindle for the OH's spinning/weaving/dyeing interest. I expect it will break but will be a good learning curve on what PLA I have to use to get the thing practicable. Expect more of thyese being printed with different filaments.

Still my favourite tool in the veg field - the dutch hoe (or wheeled hoe) - from a weedy bed to a (not so) weedy bed. Lost about 6lbs in sweat doing this though!

Finished basing up all my dead friends 25mm Naps on unit bases - 52 Infantry, 20 Cavalry, 16 Artillery and assorted commanders - Russian/Prussian and Swedish - about a 1000 figures. Need to organise my shelving to get them displayed.

My first Kg of filamament printed - 12 seperate prints making these 28mm buildings. Patrick miniatures are very good STLs. These WW2 French style buildings will be used for Chain of Command - firstyl the Gembloux Gap campaign. So impressed with this printer.

Half the squash and winter greens in. All the rain we have had and its wet only down to 10cm. First peas and broad beans will be eaten today! Carrots and cauliflowers going strong, Kale coming online.

My oldest friend died last year - he had a huge collection of 25mm Minfiges (mainly Naps). His partner sweept them into plastic bags, and via another friend, passed them to me. I'm gonna sort them, unit base and then see if I can sell them for the partner - who is being screwed by 'the family'.

And whilst i've been logging the willow the printer has been going brrrr. 50 odd ww2 28mm Germans from the recent Col. Muller KS to replace my CoC Warlords German Infantry platoon. My original figures were my very first WW2 plastics - and my first ww2 paint jobs sooooooo were not great!

Tadpoles in the large pond we built last year. We moved spawn from the old pond to this one in the veg field - hopefully we will have a permanent slug eating frog force and some spawn direct into this pond next March. If my younger self had told me I would be doing this I would have screamed in joy.

Started copicing the willow plantation we planted in 2012 - divided into logging and mulching. The mulch goes to the chooks or the veg neds, the logs will burn in the log burner connected to a boiler which heats the house and water. Not intending to pay the Trump tax on heating oil this year!
