It's not 100% of the time but a good heuristic for determining whether or not someone is actually serious about Palestine in any way, shape or form is if they talk about "settler violence" in place of the settlements themselves. If they do that, you can guess that they're pro settlements.

TOI with some interesting detail on the sanctions. Seems like the UK is preparing to ease/cancel sanctions should Netanyahu lose next month. Its conditions, except for the extremely vague “advance a political resolution” basically amount to restoring the pre-2023 status quo. So that’s not great.

Interesting analysis of the UK’s sanctions this AM in Globes (sort of Israel’s answer to the WSJ.) Key points: -Exports from settlements to the UK are $48 mn/year, compared to total Israeli exports to the UK of $1.5bn/year. So pretty insignificant from that perspective.

Will be very interesting to see the details here. If limited to settlement exports, it’s mostly symbolic. OTOH if it includes Israeli companies building/maintaining settlements, it could be a game changer. (I have no idea if the latter is a real possibility.)
