Coal cries out, "Catch her!" And Hex snaps his fingers.
The cat vanishes mid-leap.
Coal whirls on him. "What'd you do?
Where'd she go?"
Hex studies Coal's growing alarm. "It was created with Halloween's magic. It wasn't real, Coal. It was magic."
"Don't talk about our baby that way,
sweetheart."
Hex's eyes bulge. "Our what?"
"I was already thinking of names."
Hex massages his temple with a long-suffering sigh. "Again, it was not a real cat."
"You killed our child. So heartlessly. I'm not sure I like this side of you."

Finally finished listening to Go Luck Yourself by @sararaaschbooks.com and I can’t tell you how much I loved this book. Kristopher and Lochlan had an unbeatable dynamic in the enemies to lovers genre. From the moment Kris banged his fist against the study room to him barging into Loch’s coronation.

I have this strange habit of standing a penny on is side on top of my register. I’ve done this as long as I’ve worked in retail. Why? It reminds me that I’m the master of my own reality. I was patient enough to balance a penny on its edge. It may fall down, but I am in charge of picking it back up.

@sararaaschbooks.com I just finished reading. I have not read a book that invigorating in over a year when I discovered Red, White, and Royal Blue. Thank you for The Night Before Kissmas. It was funny, hear wrenching, and hopeful of what love can bring. I can’t wait for the next book in March.
