He holds out a plate. On it is a gingerbread man, or what was until recently a gingerbread man, only his leg has been amputated and he’s coated in green frosting, with brown chocolate sprinkles formed into eyes and a gaping mouth. There’s a glob of red frosting on the missing leg, and I bust out laughing.

“You made me a gingerbread zombie.”

“Christmas and Halloween.” He grins.

This is the perfect opening to ask what he thinks about us. About after. Because there will be an after, all this will work out, nothing will implode. And in that after . . .

God, I want there to be an us.

If you should know anything about food allergies, know they’re a huge bitch. I ate something that triggered my body to freak the f*ck out, and while I tried my hardest to push through, I need to take the day and recuperate.

I am so sorry for everyone I’ll miss seeing. Like my conversation partner, Frank — I was so looking forward to meeting you!

I’m going to try my absolute hardest to be back in fighting form for Kansas City tmrw night. Tho I might just spend the whole night talking about how atrocious it is to travel with food issues, be warned.

Alexo Warden: Cheerleader. Human? A dancer with a stadium’s worth of secrets.

When Orok saves Alexo at a bar, fans go feral for the star athlete protecting the pint-size dude-in-distress. The Hellhounds propose that Orok and Alexo start a PR relationship to put a positive spin on Orok’s god. Orok is set to refuse and renounce Urzoth—but that wouldn’t let him see Alexo again.

So, like a sap, he agrees.

As Orok tries to drop the fake part of their fake-relationship, Alexo’s dangerous truths emerge. To save him, Orok will have to sacrifice far more than his divine association.
