So people don’t understand words have definitions. Definition - definitive, not ambiguous. ‘Evil’ - the worst sort of bad there is. If you don’t want to say you are evil, say naughty boy. Don’t change the meaning of evil. But then, bad can mean good. They’re doing this with ‘rape’ as well.

Sincerity and self-interest are not mutually exclusive. Both things can be true. Anthropic may genuinely believe advanced Al poses an existential risk to humanity. Also, saying so may be extraordinarily good hype for a company selling extraordinarily powerful Al. We're caught in this trap with them.

It only feels “radically progressive” because we’ve spent 40 years normalising radically regressive ideas. This was broadly how Britain worked from 1945–79, when average GDP growth was 2.6% a year — compared with 1.9% in the post-Thatcher years. It works www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

What’s remarkable is how so much of the coverage of Burnham’s speech today is focused on 2 policy areas: social care and pensioner income. What Burnham set out was far bigger than the policy commitments he made. It was a huge political realignment. Do we not have the capacity to engage with that?

Oh yes - this marks the end of the Neoliberal parasitisation of our people: Our economy and our national cohesion sold off by Thatcher (“the family silver” as MacMillan famously called it). This is a speech signifying great changes for the better.
