I T H E H O U R B E T W E E N L I G H T A N D M E M O R Y I The city is still there, you just have to trust the silence enough to find it. This work explores the fragile beauty of places that reveal themselves only when the world slows down. #Art #OilPainting #Atmosphere #Venice

The Hour Between Light and Memory captures the elusive poetry of a city suspended in mist. The familiar landmarks dissolve into soft silhouettes, while pools of warm light shimmer across rain-darkened stone, creating a quiet dialogue between permanence and impermanence. Thick, expressive textures evoke weathered walls and drifting fog, allowing the painting to exist somewhere between realism and dream. Rather than documenting Venice, the work reflects the way memory reshapes place, blurring edges, amplifying emotion, and leaving behind only what the heart chooses to remember.

yep. this was a $3 clearance pen. basic steel nib, but it wrote smooth. however, i have 4 more of the pen, so this one isnt that important to me.

noted. though, it was a very cheap fountain pen that i've already gotten a few years of use out of, so i havent decided yet if its worth the effort.

hrm. i may have to retire a fountain pen. i have ink on my fingers, but cannot tell where on the pen it might have come from.

So, i've been revisiting #Fallout76 and while i still enjoyed the lack of npcs at launch, i'm enjoying the events that have been added.

A bit of #battlefield6 revenge. enemy team kept flanking us from there so i tried to do something about it. #videogames #xboxgaming #bf6

i am not good at remembering social media exists. how the heck do people use more than one of these things daily?

No Man's Sky can be quite pretty...when i'm not trying to land a ship in the middle of a storm. #virtualphotography

The scenery in Generation Zero is just so pretty.

sounds like "no reason not to" then.

The IV @theoddlander.bsky.social · 19/10/2025

i always find it interesting when a video game has an explicit "try not to kill people" mechanic. Death Stranding had the whole voidout threat. turns out Chernoblyte has a sanity mechanic to encourage non-lethal problem solving. I like it.

the real adult question is how fried is your hair, and does it need a recovery period?

revisited #farcryprimal and finally got the last achievement i've been missing for years. also, on replay, i found a pair of south tribe in a...very compromised position when capturing the town. kind of felt bad for ruining things for them.

Replaying Assassin's Creed Revelations and i'm struck by the graphical difference btwn it and the original Assassin's Creed. both were xbox 360 games, but the difference in detail is striking.

well, that is unfortunate.

the fact that you even consider that you might be that player i think makes it less likely. part of being the obnoxious asshole usually seems to require either not realising it or not caring if they do. neither of those seem to apply to you.

playing DnD as something of a power fantasy isnt necessarily wrong. that can be valid escapism.

The IV @theoddlander.bsky.social · 17/08/2025

sometimes i look at the video game gameplay sessions i've recorded and think "well that was a marathon". cutting down some #cyberpunk2077 recordings and i apparently recorded something like 18hrs over 2 days. i'm not even planning to upload this anywhere. its just a record of a playthrough for me.

The IV @theoddlander.bsky.social · 13/08/2025

well. #xboxgamepass has a retro classics game collection now and there are some 90s childhood gems in there for me.

its not real. it doesnt think, feel, or even understand the text it produces (no matter how good you think it sounds). all those philosophical "chats" are hashed together from the work of actual human writers.

seeing target ads for manual typewriters has me wondering if my dad still has the ancient portable manual i remember learning to type on in grade school somewhere...and if its still useable.

The IV @theoddlander.bsky.social · 04/08/2025

#DeathStranding accomplishment: managed to link up a few isolated ziplines to create a path from mountain knot to the mountaineer and spiritualist tonight. not the most efficient routing and whiteout conditions on the mountain means you cant really see for part of it, but it works!
