Is it just me or does birthright citizenship seem to be one of the only unambiguously clear principles in the Constitution? It should tell you something that the Supreme Court has never looked at the matter in *checks watch* 126 years after striking down the Chinese Exclusion Act as unconstitutional

It is kind of nerve wracking being on the edge of yet another paradigm shift. The open consolidation of power over the last couple of months into the hands of a new kleptocratic oligarchy is a lot to process. Time will tell, but it feels like we just witnessed the end of our constitutional order.

So I have to read Dred Scott and Fair Admissions v. Harvard next semester—both 230+ pages. I decide to read DS over break to lighten my load for next semester. My professor assigned an abridged version of it and kept the entirety of Fair Admissions 🫠

One thing I really like about academia is how accessible scholars are. I remember a couple years ago reaching out to Dr. Harris just to ask a question and it turned into a very enjoyable 2 hour zoom call getting to know each other. Really outstanding book that makes me appreciate historical work

Honestly idrc what people say. As ironic as it is being the last game, this felt like the first time all season we actually showed signs of improvement. For one, we consistently drove the ball. Yeah turnovers, but if not for two read zone fumbles, things would be different.
