So full of great tales and travel tips

Back in Wakefield, I was welcomed back to Casanova's, where I became the bar manager of a new VIP lounge within the club, which opened every night at 11. The lounge was for people with money who wanted to get away from the bang, bang, bang of the club and enjoy a good brandy, an exotic cocktail or a nice cup of coffee in more sophisticated surroundings. It was where Wake field's elite came to party in private and many of the members were rich and powerful, including top brass at the council and the police.

I kept at it because there is something about the sound of an accordion that I find really uplifting, even more so when several are played together. As 1 improved, Francis invited me to join The Wakefield Accordion Band, adding that I would need to buy my own instrument. This was a huge obstacle, but then, by some miracle, Dad found me a second-hand accordion, although I don't know how or where, because it's not the sort of thing you come across for tuppence on a market stall. He found everything for me, my father.

Getting your look right when you're at sea isn't as easy as you might think, but having cruised more than most, I know my way around the ideal cruising wardrobe. The key element is fabrics that work with travel. You need clothes that will wash through on a cold wash and don't need ironing - I'm always thinking of that side of things! If you can't wash and iron it, don't buy it, that's my rule. I'm not one for dry cleaning.

Which book? She's written two. They're both fun but the 1st one edges it slightly IMO. I took the 2nd book to Brasil on holiday this year. Left it in the book swap after I finished it. I will say that her show a couple of years ago was a HOOT. If you can blag a ticket, thoroughly recommend it.
