Canal & River Trust has shared this impression of the new bridge in Carreghofa with us. We are looking forward to seeing the vegetation regrowing by the hedges and towpath - not to mention seeing the George Watson Buck be the first boat to pass along that stretch of the Montgomery Canal in 90 years.

Well that's a wrap! Our Visitor Centre in Llanymynech is now closed until next year but there's still so much for our dedicated volunteers to do to keep busy. One of which is the refurbishment of our narrowboat toilet. Must look for some new tiles this week! #UKCanals

It's not easy asking for funds, but unfortunately it's a fact of life for charities like ours. The refurbishment of our narrowboat is being made possible through dozens of individual contributions of time and money. Could you add your support? Thanks from the Llanymynech Canal Wharf volunteers.

It hopefully goes without saying that cooling down in canal water is an extremely bad idea. And jumping from bridges is especially dangerous given how shallow canals are and you never know what is under the surface. Please seek shade and keep hydrated if you are enjoying #UKCanals this week.
